Request for Usurpation[edit]

Hello, Geologicharka. A request has been made at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations to usurp, or "take over", your username because you have not used it to edit, and another user would like to use it to edit. Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations says that any unused username may be usurped if the user is given seven days notice to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat or changing username clerk explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to utilize the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request will be filled after seven days, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit to this page clearly stating that you object to usurpation.

Please note that even if your current username is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username.

Thank you for your time. Anapi87 (talk) 13:49, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help desk question[edit]

I have made an account on en.wikipedia last year. This summer a range of IP addresses (including mine) was blocked, and I couldn't log in to en.wiki. I asked administrator on sr.wiki (my "home wiki") for help, and he made another account for me. Then I have usurped older user name. Since the block has expired, I can now use my old user name, but I can't answer to usurpation (I don't know how to do that). I don't want to change my user name. I am asking for help... --Geologicharka (talk) 10:46, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

I've left a note at the Bureaucrats' Noticeboard to try and attract a 'crat's attention, since usurpation is a bureaucrat task. Hope you get the problem sorted. BencherliteTalk 14:48, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There is some confusion regarding this username request at the Help Desk. I, too, am unsure exactly what you are requesting. Are you trying to get the contributions of another account listed under this account? Is someone trying to usurp your account and you want to prevent it? Please clarify your request. Thanks. Okay, got it. Well, if someone is trying to usurp your account, the request will be declined because you have been making edits recently. Also, I do not believe the actual request for usurpation was ever made because I could not find it in the archives. The account that put the notice on the top your talk page, well, putting that notice there is the account's only edit. You shouldn't have a problem with anyone trying to usurp your account. You've got mail![edit]

Hello, Geologicharka. Please check your email; you've got mail!
It may take a few minutes from the time the email is sent for it to show up in your inbox. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{You've got mail}} or {{ygm}} template.
