Image:AmateurRadioAntenna.JPG, inaccuracy in description[edit]

Your statement:"These kind of antenna's are today outdated and are slowly being replaced by digital stations working via satellite (Orbiting Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio);" is not quite true.

There are very few radio amateurs are involved in satellite communications, far less than those involved in HF or VHF terrestrial communications.

Most amateur radio activity is analog SSB or CW. In fact the most popular digital mode is Morse code (CW), which is usually sent by hand.

HF antennas are far from outdated. There are a few innovations being made in the field of HF antennas, and many HF antennas are in fact larger versions of VHF antennas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rjairam (talkcontribs) 19:52, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:XOF.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:XOF.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 00:09, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spam in Guardium[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Guardium, by DarkAudit, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Guardium is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Guardium, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Guardium itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:14, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ecovillages, Eco municipalities, Sustainable neighbourhoods...[edit]

Hey Genetics4good, I appreciate your initiative in getting some discussion going about these various terms. However, I was dismayed to see that you had already begun to make some of the moves:"Eco municipalities" and "Ecovillage" --> "Sustainable neighbourhood." I note the following:

  • The terms "Ecovillage" and "Eco-municipality" are both very well-defined terms, whereas "Sustainable neighbourhood" is not.
  • There are ecovillages now on all continents and a Global Ecovillage Network[1].
  • "Ecovillage" gets 287,000 Google hits; sustainable neighbourhood only 9,500.

Thus, I've restored the "Ecovillage" article and have undone your redirect of "Eco municipalities." The discussion at Talk:Sustainable city is an interesting one, and clearly we need to rationalize what we are going to do with "Eco municipalities," "Eco-town," "Ecopolis" and "Eco-city." Let's not forget that editorial decisions are made by consensus. Sunray (talk) 01:05, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Longevity Diet[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Longevity Diet, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of The Longevity Diet. RE:List of most usable [sic] knots[edit]

I'm afraid this violates WP:NPOV. I'm afraid it's not up to Wikipedia to tell people what the most useable (and check your spelling) of anything is. I could write articles on what the most useable fridges, computers etc. and they would get deleted in an instant. I suggest you incorporate the information into knots while retaining NPOV. Speedy deletion of Body therapy[edit]

A tag has been placed on Body therapy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi,

Recently you've added a number of suggestions to the Talk:Appropriate technology page which seem to discuss the subject itself, rather than how to edit the article. The comments made in this set of revisions in particular don't appear to discuss editing the article at all - rather, they speculate about different applications of appropriate technology. Per WP:FORUM, this isn't really what our talk pages are for. Please keep that in mind, as off-topic content may be removed from talk pages. Thanks. status[edit]

As reviewing admin, I in any case declined the Speedy, because it was not "a very short article lacking context to establish the subject of the article". If anyone wishes to have it deleted they will need to go to AfD, but it is likely that someone will. We have many articles "Comparison of ...", so that is not a reason for deletion. The basic idea for these pages is that the purpose is not to help someone choose, but to provide encyclopedic information as an overview of the subject. Take a look at some of the similar ones. What's the plan on air coolers and such?[edit]

You seem to be in the middle of a big and somewhat controversial re-org. Can you say where the proposal is for this, so we can review and comment? Dicklyon (talk) 17:04, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Genetics4good, are you done with your move project? There is material you bulk-moved with the air coolers section that should go back over to the absorption refrigeration section.... like the paragraphs and image specifically describing absorption refrigerators. If you are done, I will move the block back myself. DMahalko (talk) 13:11, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
How can he be done? He hasn't even pointed out a plan/proposal yet. Dicklyon (talk) 17:53, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, for the plan: if we think logically about it, coolers and heaters are best categorised by type (eg solid, gas or liquid coolers/heaters; to the State of matter). An air cooler is a type of gas cooler. However, as they are so widespread still require their own article. The cooler operating by air (now mentioned under "air cooling) is basically a solid cooler. Indeed, in many dictionaries (including Merriam Webster, ...) the incorrect term where the cooling susbstance is used before ...cooler is often mentioned; yielding terms as air cooler, ... for solid matter coolers. However as this is an encyclopedia, we must use a method which works for all our articles.

Thus the solution is simple;

  • move the now present air cooling article to solid matter cooler
  • reinstate my info for air cooler
  • keep the absorption air cooler article (as this type of cooler is very needed to explain air coolers often used in air conditioners, ...) As for the -refridgerator article; I was under the impression that the cooling cycle works both for the absorption air cooler and the refrigeratorn, no ? Keep as is. The absorption refrigerator simply describes the cooler with extra casing.

Genetics4good (talk) 07:54, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You should mention the plan at the talk pages of affected articles. I'm pretty sure that that it won't fly at air cooling, where people interested in air cooling as discussed there aren't going to care much about your plans for what to do about cooling air. If you look at books that mention air cooling, none of them appear to interpret it as something that cools air. Dicklyon (talk) 08:09, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move tag[edit]

  • Hi Genetics4good. I've just now removed the entry from Talk:Bush airplane. I'm assuming that you used the {{move}} template or... something. Regardless, it was a mess, so if you really feel that the article should be moved then you should redo the movereq correctly (Note however that I don't see that movereq going anywhere. It's not up to me obviously, but I doubt anyone will support it).

You don't have to agree with the request to fix it – you can oppose right after if you want. But please don't remove malformed requests just because you disagree with them. • I did actually try. After getting the edit screen though, I was just faced with... a mess. Essentially needing to delete it in order to recreate it anyway, I just decided to delete it and leave a message here instead. That was kind of lazy, I know, but to be honest while it doesn't actually bother me to do so I just don't see the point of going through the process on this one.

  • (To Genetics4good): Please remember to leave a signed comment after the {{subst:move}} tag to explain why you want the page to be moved. I've added a signature at Talk:Bush airplane, so that the bot can correctly parse the date, but it's still missing an explanation why you want the page to be moved. The procedure is explained here. Proposed deletion of Future aircraft developments‎[edit]

The article Future aircraft developments‎ has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Ahunt (talk) 15:04, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comment - we had some discussion about this over at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Aircraft#Future_aircraft_developments and my aim on WP:PRODing it was to get it either fixed, redirected or deleted, since it isn't of much value as it is! - Ahunt (talk) 13:01, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I will work on it but could you give some pointers on how I should alter it ? If I decide to move it into the suggested Aircraft design article, I'll need some other info I could use to inmediatelly have a bit of "weight" for the article. Alternatively, I'm also open for other suggestions.

Genetics4good (talk) 13:11, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest the topic is so broad that I can't think of a way of making it into a useful article, other than redirecting it somewhere. - Ahunt (talk) 14:37, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Genetics4good, I noticed that you copy and pasted the content from this article into the aircraft design article. I do not think that is a solution to the root problem; the problem being that the list is a selective, incomplete list that briefly covers many random topics with little rhyme or reason. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Aircraft#Future_aircraft_developments, and I think it would be more constructive to discuss this there before any action is taken. Thanks, -SidewinderX (talk) 19:01, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Solar water heating image[edit]

Hi, I've taken a look at your image request, and now I have a few questions:

  • How exactly is the circuit to the water heater tied in? Shouldn't the water heater be taking partially heated water from the solar or other system, heating it to the required temperature, and feeding the appliances?
  • Seeing as we have a municipal water inlet shown, shouldn't the water outlets from the appliances also be shown going to drain?
My "mail me" link works, so drop me a mail to prod me on this one, and I'll do it over the weekend. --Slashme (talk) 17:15, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Human energy harvesting‎[edit]

The article you created Human energy harvesting from Energy harvesting contains a lot of non-human energy harvesting. It was easier to follow as it was before. A redirect from Human energy harvesting to Energy harvesting would be desirable unless you want to edit both pages. Thanks for understanding. --141.219.80.55 (talk) 06:21, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly what in the article is non-human energy harvesting ? Allot of subdivisions are made (eg kinetic energy, ...) but they are all generated by a human.

DO NOT do this again. All you did was delete 99% of the information from Energy harvesting and paste it into your newly created article. Either use the move tab at the top of the page, ask an administrator to help, or discuss it at WP:RfD. Your move was very dubious and could be mistaken for vandalism by some editors. I'm not sure why you would need to revert this, the renaming made the article more cohesive and the name it had (battery (electricity)) wasn't quite good anyhow

Deletion and transwikiing[edit]

Hi Genetics4good - I commented on the deletion debates for Alternative ICE fuel generator & ICE fuel conversion. Unfortunately I don't think they meet Wikipedia's criteria in their present state. It's essential to remember that the importance of a topic is not the criteria that Wikipedia uses for inclusion (otherwise it would be bogged down in never-ending debates about what is important). If I haven't mentioned it already, see Appropedia:Project:Appropedia is different from Wikipedia.

If you want to develop these pages at Appropedia (which is probably the best idea) then the best option is exporting the pages with their history, via Special:Export. I've done this and saved the XML file. Then when imported to another wiki, the contributors can still be seen, since the original page on Wikipedia won't be accessible. An admin can import the page to Appropedia, so let me know and I'll do this if you want. --Chriswaterguy talk 02:32, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Green tuning. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Problems with diagram.[edit]

Hi. We're having difficulty with your diagram File:Tram and train undercarriage.png. (Please see the related discussion at Talk:Rail tracks#"Tram and train undercarriage" image.)

The image is still present at Difference between train and tram rails, but I have removed it from the other three locations. I have difficulty understanding what the image is showing me. It looks like the blue parts are the bogie frames and axleboxes, and the brown parts are the wheels, curiously missing the axle. The effect is that the top image shows the train sitting between the rails. If I ignore the colouring, and the top half of the brown bit, I can see that the blue and brown when combined make up the profile of the tyre and flange plus the axle. I'm sure you have put much care into your diagram, but I don't think it's quite there yet.

Incidentally, after you have adjusted the drawing, please do not use it to replace actual photos of rail profiles. These are also important.

Cheers -- EdJogg (talk) 13:31, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey EdJogg
I'm no train/tram expert, and the images I mentioned are all that I found on the undercarriages. Tell me what to change and I'll unput the changes in next version. Regarding the replacement of actual photo's, I only removed one photo, which I think the image I made also replaced more or less. I removed it primarily to have a better lay-out (became a bit screwed up with so many images).
User:Genetics4good (talk) 17:11, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
At your suggestion I have rearranged the images at tramway track. It really needs more text before it can cope with any more images (which is why I moved some of the existing ones to a gallery). I felt that the removed image was rather significant to the article, so I apologise if I over-reacted.
Regarding your diagram, I'm sorry but I really cannot help you. The other diagram (see the talk page discussion above) clearly shows the difference in wheel and rail profile -- and the reason for a different flange shape -- between grooved and conventional rail. I don't understand what your diagram was trying to show beyond this. As you say you are not a train/tram expert, I would suggest you ask for assistance either at Talk:Rail tracks or at WikiProject Trains where someone with more expertise may be able to help you.
Cheers -- EdJogg (talk) 20:16, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I made the schematic to show how the carriage stands upon the rail (wasn't sure in the beginning whether wheels were on the inner or outer side, or both, whether there are wheels within the rail itself (ie with train rails), and how the rail profile itself (of the tram rail) was. In addition, I needed a better image for some derivate images (will be uploaded soon). Trough cross-comparison of the images noted in the description, the image is what I came up with.

User:Genetics4good (talk) 08:17, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Finished first derivate image: File:Tram_and_train_rail_in_trench.png ; when I make a better image I'll update these derivates too.

Clivus Multrum diagrams[edit]

Hi.

I just vectorised your two Clivus multrum illustrations (1, 2) and was wondering if you could take a look at them to make sure I hadn't missed/missinterpreted any details. Cheers /Lokal_Profil 03:01, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Lokal Profil, The images are real good; the only comment I can give is that the ventilation pipe doesn't seem to completely hook up to the pipe to the outside; actually there shouldn't be 2 pipes at all, simply 1 smooth line (1 pipe). The outside pipe also seems to have a slightly different diameter, both pipes need to be equally big. The problem occurs in both images you made. It seems that my original images also had this flaw, perhaps this is caused due the image clean-up I did a while ago; I uploaded a better version, but I probably removed some color between the pipes aswell, giving the impression now that it are 2 pipes, which they are not. User:Genetics4good (talk) 14:28, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is the new version of File:Clivus Multrum Composting toilet.svg better? (please ignore the font issues for now, I'll fix that again once the ventilation pipe is fixed). /Lokal_Profil 16:29, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Met vriendelijke groet, Annabel (talk) 16:22, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IPSocking to add images[edit]

I believe you've been IPSocking to add your images to energy-related articles. To be specific, this to Appropriate technology.

These diagrams of use are of your usual unacceptably low standard and are riddled with farcical technical inaccuracies. To start with, what on earth is domestic hydrogen storage doing in an article on Appropriate technology? Couldn't you limit yourself to personal jetpacks, and other technologies that have at least been demonstrated as workable? Secondly, the diagrams are once again unacceptably inaccurate. This is an encyclopedia, where we're supposed to care about accuracy. It's not a playpen for your random doodles and inventions, particularly not when they look like the work of an ignorant child.

Please stop doing this. Some of us have better things to be doing. I might even get to write articles on real energy technologies, if I wasn't wasting effort chasing this rubbish. Andy Dingley (talk) 20:33, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reed beds[edit]

Hi Genetics4good,

I've coloured the reed bed diagrams: see WP:GL/I#ReedBedSetUps.jpg. Please check that they're correct. --Slashme (talk) 18:39, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Remarks:
File:Surface_Flow_Reedbed.svg --> remove excess blue lines (keep only 1), color water mass completely blue, left pipe needs to come slightly above the waterline, yet lower than the middle pipe (the water outlet). The middle pipe thus also needs to be hightened. Remove the right pipe (the third one) and place it in the first pond, this first pipe will be the water inlet. The third pond is removed and instead, the pond is swapped for soil. Also curve and extent the water outlet out to the right (for coherence to the other images). Also, there should be a disctinction between concrete, soil and (sand, gravel or) lavastones; ie dark grey, light grey and brown. In essence, just add another line below the concrete and color it brown; there is a black line in the pdf-drawing on which you can base this. The sand, gravel or lavastones (where the plants to root in) can be dawn by dividing the current "concrete block" in half and coloring the upper side light grey. For the "hills", I'm not sure how this is done, perhaps this is just concrete, check this with Dion.
File:Subsurface Flow Reedbed.svg --> take over the underground as I've drawn it in my picture (ie the same lines/layering/hills, ... as the first picture); in essence, there needs to be more or less the same amount of water above the (sand, gravel) or lavastones (not shown in pdf-image); personally, I'd simply draw the water inlet higher up (where the accumulates) and draw only 1 water outlet (without the "box" in the picture nor enlarged besides it, I'm btw not sure what the function of this is), extent the water outlet till end of picture. As noted above, there isn't any difference from the first image, it's simply drawn enlarged so as to show the arrows better, but for an svg this is probably not needed.
File:Vertical Flow Reedbed.svg

Coloring is wrong: water tank is filled with (dirty) water; thus blue instead of grey. The layer where the water inlet goes into actually needs to be composed of 2 colors: ie blue (above the water inlet pipe) and light grey (below the water inlet pipe). However, its probably clearer dough to again use the layering of the first schematic; the only difference with the first image is that there is now a pump added, and that the water goes straight down trough the substrate to the water outlet. The tank/pump doesn't need to be placed lower than the reedbed btw.

Perhaps its useful to also add numbering, add numbers for water inlet, outlet and the 3 layers (concrete, substrate and soil). My suggestions are also best confirmed with Dion dough, I'm no expert on it, but I think the suggestions will be correct.

A tag has been placed on Wildlife of Brazil requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ~ [ Scott M. Misnamed file[edit]

Hi Genetics4good,

The image you uploaded under File:Camargue_Red_rice.JPG does not correspond to its title : this rice does not come from Camargue, but from Aude, as written on the bag. Aude is not located in Camargue. I suggest that you reupload the file under a different name and ask for deletion of the current one in order not to propagate the confusion.

Thanks. Skippy le Grand Gourou (talk) 07:56, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Curry Leaves.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Curry Leaves.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned non-free image File:Curry Leaves.JPG[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Curry Leaves.JPG.

PLEASE NOTE:

Nomination of Aircraft design process for deletion[edit]

A discussion has begun about whether the article Aircraft design process, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aircraft design process until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Andy Dingley (talk) 17:02, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Draft horse list[edit]

Hi, I tossed the draft horse list for several reasons. First of all, the list was horribly inaccurate, Akhal-tekes, Arabians and Andalusians (just to start with the As) are not draft horses. Your source was not reliable, and most of all this list is a duplicative content fork from List of horse breeds. Also, you had many, many links to disambiguated pages or geographic location pages, not the actual breed articles. While we appreciate anything to help improve wikipedia, this was not it. You are welcome to take your concerns to the talk page at list of horse breeds where we can discuss matters further. There is some debate over when breeds move from a heavy warmblood category to the draft category, and thus it's a tricky distinction to make, also. We'd prefer the breeds stay in one list, though there are small lists of breeds in articles such as draft horse. Montanabw(talk) 02:17, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Windshaft[edit]

Hi Genetics4good, with the windshaft article you were mixing up some things, the windshaft is what we in dutch call bovenas, not what we call koningsspil, that is the main shaft, or upright shaft in english (accoording to the mill term dictionary I have). So I removed some irrelevant parts and pictures, and picked one picture from the dutch article. Akoopal (talk) 22:02, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Electric energy station has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unlinked WP:NEOLOGISM. The only two outbound links are themselves WP:NEO, hiding the real links (real links, but not under these names) behind piped links, contrary to WP:MOSDAB.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Nitric vs Nitrous Oxide Production?[edit]

Regarding your contribution Nitric_oxide_production.png can you confirm that this apparatus produces nitric oxide, NO, rather than nitrous oxide, N2O, or nitrogen dioxide, NO2? You cite a reference with the title "The Gas That Makes You Laugh", implying that it's N2O. Yet the vapors above the reaction are said to be nitrogen peroxide, NO2 and item 6 in the drawing says that N2O would dissolve in cold water. Does the reaction of copper and nitric acid produce all those oxides of nitrogen so that they have to be separated by their boiling points? Karn (talk) 05:56, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Look at the image description again, I added a link to the article, read the article.

User:Genetics4good (talk) 13:02, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed this, before WP kills someone. Yes, almost any decomposition of ammonium nitrate will produce some nitrous oxide. It will produce a whole lot of other oxides too - the output will be muckier than drag racer's nitrous.
Genetics4good - you do not have the technical skills or basic WP:COMPETENCE to be adding any image to Wikipedia or Commons more complicated than boiling an egg. Please stop doing this. Andy Dingley (talk) 13:18, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Carbon illegal, etc[edit]

Hi, I have no problem with you (or anyone) doing the work to re-add the section if it is supported by proper reliable sources; but the contents of each <ref> tag in the section need to be bibliographic citation to the RS, and not just footnote-like commentary like they mostly are now. In other words, REF tags should be formatted according to citing sources. I haven't taken time to read up on it or I might do it myself. If you take another crack at it, please pay careful attention to the question "is this proposal to make emissions 'illegal' substantively different than cap-and-trade proposals already covered in other sections of the article"? If the answer is no, then any new info in this section should be merged with the cap-and-trade discussion, not stuck in under a redundant, arguably POVish subheading. Biodiesel images[edit]

The images are of homebrew equipment designs; they're both how-to content and based on original research and thus, cannot be included. I'm unsure why you continue trying to foist this quality (questionably safe design, etc) of content on Wikipedia. We've had this discussion before (when you promised to make changes and never did). While you're capable of posting interesting and useful images, you also repeatedly ignore guidelines (particularly WP:NOR) to the point of being disruptive (as been cataloged here and here).--E8 (talk) 16:08, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I just figured that the images were suitable for that page (on biodiesel production, I allready assumed that it wasn't suitable for the Biodiesel page.
I regards to the image you mentioned; the images I made were the promised update (admittedly a bit late). The new images were partly made using the old image.

Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account, which contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Genetics4good, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and admit to it now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

SPI[edit]

Regarding the SPI report filed against you. There is no absolute rule against editing whilst logged out, but given the contentious nature of the edits you're making I think it's best if you edit solely from your one named account. Editing as an IP may be seen as an attempt to avoid scrutiny (whether deliberate or not). Nothing is going to come of the SPI report this time, but if you don't heed this advice it may lead to a block in future. Regards Basalisk inspect damageberate 23:22, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"The radio station works completely analogue. These kind of antennas are today outdated and are slowly being replaced by digital stations working via satellite (Orbiting Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio; see The OSCAR Wikipedia entry and/or eguipment using the Internet Radio Linking Project"

I'm not sure that station operates completely analog. They could be using digital modes as well. There are multiple kinds of antennas there - I doubt they are outdated. These kinds of antennas are used in everything from television to cellular phone communications, and more. And the Satellite commmunications, antennas used, are based on the principles of these antennas.

You do seem to be talking about Amateur (Ham) Radio when you cite "OSCAR" and "IRLP", Oscar would keep the antennas going, IRLP is a project that links via the Internet - Ham Radio Repeaters (mostly UHF and VHF) which use These Kinds of Antennas. Radio Frequency (RF) transmission is "Analog" ... with modulation that could be analog or digital - Digital being analog tones sent in some kind of sequence to carry the protocol or protocols of the digital content. The analog radio wave signal is "detected" and the modulation is extracted ... be it carrying analog of digital information. Most of which can be decoded by older computers with the proper software and hardware (e.g. sound card + softtware.) I don't think antennas are going anywhere for a LONG time.

Hello, I've closed the above-mentioned move request as it seems (from the title and pages in question) you were requesting a merge. The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. Proposed deletion of VR HMD mount[edit]

The article VR HMD mount has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

obvious neologism: subject adequately covered elsewhere already

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on Utherverse Digital Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of DEEP-IN[edit]

Hello Genetics4good,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged DEEP-IN for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, Genetics4good. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. fossil fuel power station[edit]

I noticed you added the text: "It also features a nuclear power plant next to it, which emits no CO2 at all" to Bełchatów Power Station. This is incorrect. The hyperbolic cooling towers are for water vapor used to turn the coal powered generators. Brian Everlasting (talk) 22:40, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You mean the water vapor of them is used to wash out sulfur dioxide from the coal-fired power plant ? I didn't know both nuclear and fossil fuel power plants were ever connected in some way (I just thought both were placed near each other for electricity distribution purposes), but now that you mention this, it indeed makes sense.

User:Genetics4good (talk) 10:57, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any nuclear power station within a 5 mile radius of the Bełchatów Power Station site? No.
Cooling towers are not flue-gas desulphurisation
" I didn't know both nuclear and fossil fuel power plants were ever connected in some way " They're not.
"but now that you mention this" No-one, except you, has mentioned this.
Genetics4good - yet again (and I am so, so tired of years of this) you are adding new content based on your own technical understanding of a topic and you do not have (have never had, and I do not believe you will ever have) the technical competence to do so. Your track record for such errors, and the wasted efforts of others in cleaning them up, is enormous.
Please stop editing content anything like this. This is a harsh thing to say, but you have never demonstrated an ability to do it anything like accurately enough for even our low standards here. Andy Dingley (talk) 11:09, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Point taken.
Perhaps though that a variant of the Coal-fired power plant schematic here at wikimedia commons can be requested at the image lab and uploaded to the wikimedia commons -and linked from that main image as a variant- ? The main image has no cooling tower in its cooling circuit from the condensor (rather it just connects to the river). A variant with a cooling tower can be made similar to this schematic. This could have avoided me of getting confused on this.

You have done this so many times before that you have no excuse for continuing. I would welcome your indef blocking because of this, it is that bad a problem and you are so incapable of addressing it (I've had this same conversation with you for seven years now).
There are two needs here: providing an image for you, providing an image for WP. You are easy - you can read [7], or a library book. WP is harder, as we need a freely licensed image. Getting an image for WP is tricky, but you have no excuse.
File:Coal_fired_power_plant_diagram.svg is pretty good and simpler, thus clearer, than File:PowerStation2.svg etc. However it does show river cooling, a largely American practice, rather than cooling towers. Redrafting it with cooling towers (and ideally, more clearly showing the separation of condensed feedwater and condenser cooling water) would indeed be useful. But please don't try it yourself.
