If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. Miami-area special project: Your input needed!

Dear Johnnyjoe23,

You appear to be active in WikiProject Miami, or have contributed a lot recently to Miami-related articles. I would like to invite you to contribute your opinions on a grant proposal for a project that may provide unique and helpful resources for Wikipedia in Miami.

Over the last six months, Wikipedia and Wikinews have been discussing a project proposal with the Knight Foundation which could create a new type of an environment for locally-oriented encyclopedic and news content. The general idea involves an official sanctioning of a local Wiki community in one or two charter areas, one of them being Miami. The Wiki community would be empowered to cover all things Miami -- even things that normally would not pass notability restrictions -- and cover both encyclopedic information as well as current events in the South Florida community. The proposal may even involve the creation of a physical "wiki space": some sort of a local room or office to coordinate efforts and provide community members with a place to create and edit articles.

I'm working on formalizing the proposal, and would like to invite you and other Miami contributors to a project brainstorming session via chat. The chat will take place this Saturday, July 14th, at 12 noon Eastern Time (9am Pacific). If enough people can't make it there will be an additional repeat meeting at some later time.

The online meeting will happen using IRC on the channel #wikipedia-miami -- you can use your own chat client or the use this handy link to join the chat. Please don't forget to provide your username when you log into chat.

One Life to Live images

I personally like the new images you've uploaded, but there was a specific reason that screenshots were used previously. Promotional photos are generally considered replaceable, while screenshots are OK under fair use. As soon as someone notices, they will probably put up for deletion, as was recently done with all the Passions images. I wish you had uploaded these images separately and not just replaced the old ones with your new images. TAnthony 05:44, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Also, fair use images are only supposed to be used for characters, not to show what performers look like (see #8 here), so your use of images in Erika Slezak, Robin Strasser etc. are not appropriate and will surely be removed from the articles and perhaps deleted. I don't have the strength to clean this up right now, but please familiarize yourself with fair usse rules before you make any more massive changes like this. TAnthony 06:01, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Soap opera moves of the woman's last name

Hello, Johnnyjoe23. It's best not to move the woman's article of her maiden name or the name that she is mostly known by to her married name...unless she is also well-known by her married name. What I mean about that is explained in this link.

However, since Blair Cramer has been married to Todd Manning as many times as she has, the name Manning has become as common a name for her as her maiden name, and therefore I won't move her article from Blair Cramer Manning back to Blair Cramer...yet. Blair is an exception concerning this topic, much like Kendall Hart Slater is, when it comes to moving the woman's maiden name to her married name. But cases such as Jessica Buchanan are not, considering that Jessica is mostly known to television viewers as Jessica Buchanan, not by her married name.

On a different note, I also need to tell you that fair-use images are not allowed on Wikipedia to depict real-life people. Yes, we can use fair-use images in an article of a real-life person to depict them as a fictional character that they have portrayed or are portraying...or for cover art (album cover, magazine cover, etc.), but not for the main (introduction) image within an article, such as the image you added to the Trevor St. John article. If you don't remove that image, it'll mostly likely get removed by another editor here at Wikipedia (however long that takes). Anyway, I'll see you around. Flyer22 19:02, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I see you have recently had an unsuccessful RFA. You may find the following advice helpful. If you have not done so already, please read

Generally, nominees returning after an unsuccessful RfA should wait at least another 3,000 edits and 3 months before trying again. Nominees need to show the ability to contribute a number of significant edits to build the encyclopedia.
  • The Admin tools allow the user to block and unblock other editors, delete and undelete pages and protect and unprotect pages. Nominees will therefore do well to gain experience and familiarity with such areas as WP:AIV, WP:AFD, WP:CSD, Wikipedia:Protection policy, and WP:BLOCK to learn when to do these things.
  • Adminship inevitably leads one to 1) need to explain clearly the reasons for one's decisions, 2) need to review one's decisions and change one's mind when it is reasonable to do so, 3) need to review one's decisions and stand firm when it is reasonable to do so, 4) need to negotiate a compromise. Admins need a familiarity with dispute resolution. The ability to communicate clearly is essential.
  • I recommend taking part in RfA discussions to help learn from the experiences of others. Todd Manning article

Hello, FrickFrack. The fact that the character had plastic surgery is a significant part of his history (having it right there near the beginning of the lead quickly explains how the transition was done); it should be in the lead, per WP:LEAD. I am okay with going with your wording of "The role has been portrayed since 2003 by Trevor St. John, who entered the role upon Howarth's departure," as long as we add "as Todd physically revised following plastic surgery." If you have a better way of rewording that, though, I would be for that as well.

As for bolding Trevor St. John's name in the infobox, I do not feel that it is needed (with the lead and him as the main image and all), but I don't hugely object to it. Flyer22 (talk) 20:06, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
