MythBusters[edit]

With regards to your colorization of "Busted", "Confirmed" and "Plausible", what exactly is the WP policy or Manual of Style's view on colorizing text, insofar as when to do it? Thanks. Nightscream 15:37, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Berkeley BART.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Berkeley BART.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:06, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Fruitvale BART.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Fruitvale BART.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BrownCow • (how now?) 17:19, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:DSCN0961.JPG listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:DSCN0961.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Uploading images[edit]

I uploaded your image Multi-keyboard.jpg to Wikipedia Commons so it could be shared between the other languageprojects. Could you please be kind to consider uploading images directly to Commons yourself in the future? Its just as easy/easier....--AndersL 19:35, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Club at Berkeley[edit]

Hi Flip619, I'm just writing to let you know that me and some Wikipedian friends are launching Wikipedia Club at Berkeley, a student club for promoting participation in Wikipedia and face-to-face collaborations. If you're still living in the Bay Area and that sounds fun to you, please consider joining our mailing list. You've done a great job of photographing local points of interest like BART stations, and that's one activity we're definitely considering. Thanks! Dcoetzee 00:44, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Flip, I was curious to know where the laser was located in that photo you uploaded. From your descriptions I understood it wasn't in the palm tree but rather 30m away; however I would like to confirm because friends of mine were arguing that laser was that spot in the palm tree. The reason they think this was may be because of light focus where the beam looked more sharper an brighter at the tree. You can reply here or in my User talk:Almuhammedi (I don't recommend logging in while I'm @ work, so forgive me).--195.94.11.17 (talk) 10:16, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Almuhammedi, The laser itself was right next to the camera. The bright spot happens on the target because that's where the light scatters out, instead of staying in a coherent beam (the camera was just a digital point-and-shoot, a more proper camera might show it better). The reason the laser beam gets sharper as distance increases from the camera is because the camera's focal plane is at the tree, so as you follow the beam down back to the camera, it gets progressively out-of-focus, thus blurrier (likewise, had the laser been in the tree pointing back, it would look exactly the same). Between the laser and the tree, the beam itself stayed the same diameter (~0.5cm). --Flip619 (talk) 16:00, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. I never paid attention for the focusing issue :).--Almuhammedi (talk) 16:58, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jak Lingko moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Jak Lingko, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 23:31, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Jak Lingko, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:39, 30 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Jak Lingko[edit]

Hello, Flip619. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Jak Lingko".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Bkissin (talk) 14:30, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Jak Lingko has been accepted[edit]

Jak Lingko, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

The article has been assessed as Stub-Class, which is recorded on its talk page. It is commonplace for new articles to start out as stubs and then attain higher grades as they develop over time. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Since you have made at least 10 edits over more than four days, you can now create articles yourself without posting a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for creation if you prefer.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask at the help desk. Once you have made at least 10 edits and had an account for at least four days, you will have the option to create articles yourself without posting a request to Articles for creation.

Thanks again, and happy editing!
