January 2022[edit]

Information icon Hi Fijipedia! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Mutt Lunker (talk) 02:00, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Greenland shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.  Dr Greg  talk  02:03, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You may also find WP:BRD informative. When you have been bold and have then been reverted, discuss until a consensus has been reached. Mutt Lunker (talk) 02:07, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Greenland, you may be blocked from editing. Several people have lodged objections to your edits, there is no consensus for them, yet you are continuing to war, even proclaiming this apparently proudly on talk pages. You have already been warned so your behaviour is now unambiguously disruptive. Revert yourself and have some patience. Mutt Lunker (talk) 20:16, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for disruptive editing at Greenland.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Unban me and I will never revert your edits again. Wikipedia administrators are gods and shall be obeyed. Please forgive my sins. I am just a newbie who has no idea about how Wikipedia works, so please give me another chance.

Decline reason:

WP:GAB explains how to craft an appropriate unblock request. Yamla (talk) 15:06, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Request reason:

I am wrong for reverting multiple edits on the Greenland article despite never coming to a consensus. I was very immature and rude and will correct my decisions. Please give me another chance.

Accept reason:

On the basis of you temporarily refraining from editing in the controversial areas described(say, 6 months or 250 edits whichever is longer), and with the understanding that a block may be reinstituted should problematic behavior resume, I will remove the block. As part of this second chance I won't log this as a formal topic ban and rely on your observance of it. 331dot (talk) 09:24, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is nowhere near sufficient. What about your personal attacks? What about your disruption? What about your battleground mentality? It's not just about you reverting edits. --Yamla (talk) 15:26, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for personally attacking respectable Wikipedia editors and for disrupting pages despite never coming to a consensus. I vow to become a friendly, constructive editor who makes Wikipedia better. I will immediately take conflicts to talk pages. The only way I can prove this is if I get another chance on Wikipedia.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Fijipedia (talkcontribs)

Not every comment needs to be an unblock request. 331dot (talk) 16:14, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Would you be willing to refrain, for a time, from making edits related to the status of territories(i.e. Greenland and the territories of the UK)? What other topics would you edit about? 331dot (talk) 16:24, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would be willing to refrain from editing territory articles. I would honestly mostly edit about historical events and maybe some sports. Fijipedia (talk) 16:56, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have one more question, what will you do if talk page discussion fails to resolve a dispute? 331dot (talk) 20:32, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Compromise or ask for a third opinion. Fijipedia (talk) 21:40, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Jpgordon Yamla What would either of you like to see here, if anything? I'm thinking this might be worth a shot with the understanding that the block will be reimposed if need be. 331dot (talk) 22:15, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm okay with what's here. No objections. Jpgordon is the blocking admin. --Yamla (talk) 22:18, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. I think the block has served its purpose. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 02:14, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Potential superpower[edit]

Given your recent block, you would be well served to self-revert your recent edit-warring attempt on Potential superpower, which introduced factual errors. Your wording China takes the lead within the parameters of economic resources, future resources, economic relationships and diplomatic influence across eight measures, it ranks second in military capacity and cultural influence, behind the USA has two significant issues: it makes it seem like it is fact and not opinion (violating WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV), and it is also not supported by the cited source, which has China only leading in economic capability and economic relationships. intforce (talk) 21:33, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How did I start an edit-warring attempt? I didn't even revert three edits. No clue why you're coming to my talk page to threaten me. That's not even my wording. Fijipedia (talk) 22:41, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Edit-warring is irrespective of the number of reverts. Your revert with the description "Find more recent sources that support the claim that the USA is the world's sole superpower and I won't revert", is pretty much textbook WP:EW. Also, the wording of the quote above may not be yours, but it is what you reinstated with this edit. intforce (talk) 22:56, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I had no intentions to create an edit war as you claim. I'm willing to revert the edit and then start a talk page section discussing the topic until a consensus is reached. Sound good to you? Fijipedia (talk) 23:02, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Hansi Flick. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Transfer[edit]

Please remember that a player can only join his new club on 1 July and not before, that's why i reverted. Kante4 (talk) 13:57, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Although Tchouameni will leave on 1 July, his Monaco career is over. He will join Madrid later this year, so I don't see anything wrong with my edit. Fijipedia (talk) 14:51, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
He is still contracted with Monaco until 30 June. Kante4 (talk) 14:59, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand your problem with my edit. I never said that he is now a Real Madrid player, so what's wrong with my edit? Fijipedia (talk) 15:01, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The infobox says that he is a Madrid player which is wrong (plus the wrong dash). Kante4 (talk) 15:07, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The point of it was to state the fact that he will be joining Madrid, not to claim that he's a Madrid player already. Fijipedia (talk) 15:21, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sadio Mane[edit]

The BBC, a reputable source, say the transfer is happening. Sky Sports, a reputable source, say the transfer is happening. Invisible preparatory edits can and should be made, there is no policy that a club has to make a statement before making such useful edits. All my warmest wishes, ItsKesha (talk) 18:11, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that you guys are making public edits. Fijipedia (talk) 18:13, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So if you don't have a problem with the hidden preparatory edits I made, amend your previous edit. Thanks. All my warmest wishes, ItsKesha (talk) 18:28, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You literally reverted my edits which removed the "upcoming" transfer being shown in public as well as the private edits. That was my mistake. But you might as well just put in the invisible predatory edits instead of fully reverting, because I won't self-revert. You're literally going against your own words with your edits. Fijipedia (talk) 18:44, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not having a pissing contest about reverts, mate. We both made reverts. I'm asking you nicely to do a partial revert of your previous edit, so any semblance of an edit-war is avoided. All my warmest wishes, ItsKesha (talk) 19:50, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Fijipedia (talk) 22:11, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Friendly reminder[edit]

First, Wikipedia doesn’t consider content removal actions as vandalism as long as they do not involve "deliberately intended to obstruct or defeat the project's purpose", or when the 3RR is not violated, so your consideration of my previous edit on Gorbachev's biography is strictly arbitrary and disproportionate. Second, thanks, but i’m not “your guy”. In fact, as a human, no property rights are imposed on me. Cheers. _-_Alsor (talk) 22:35, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We had consensus on the talk page about the White House photo staying, and you broke it. That’s ridiculous. Go on the talk page and get consensus, and if you actually do, you can change the picture. Fijipedia (talk) 22:38, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
