Euphemisms[edit]

Hi, I have again had to change your wording at Shiva (Judaism). Please note the information at WP:EUPHEMISM. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 03:33, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Sitush: I apologize however, this is the first time I have noticed that you have made changes. I will fix my wording.

No big deal. You're new-ish here and no-one expects you to know everything. I've just made a few more changes for which I hope my edit summary will suffice as an explanation. As an aside, I'm not sure about your use of "G-d". I believe this may be the style used in Judaism; certainly, it was an affectation in English Christianity many centuries ago (I've seen contemporaneous books etc that use it). However, I'm not sure that it is Wikipedia's style. It might be worth asking at the Judaism project - I'm sure we must have one. - Sitush (talk) 20:05, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I must add that it is an interesting article. I was born, mostly raised and currently live in an area that has one of the highest densities of Jewish people in the UK but am not myself Jewish. I have Jewish friends, have been employed by Jewish people and do work (self-employed) for Jewish people ... but much of the tradition/belief/practices etc flies under the radar, so a comprehensive article such as yours is a boon. Well done. - Sitush (talk) 20:35, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I will do my best to contact the Judaism project in order to clarify whether they would prefer the use of "God" or "G-d". Thank you very much for all of your help, I really appreciate it! Estherdvorkin (talk) 19:15, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Replacing God with "G-d"[edit]

As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia has a policy that requires neutral point of view. Replacing God with "G-d" is unencyclopedic reverence which violates this policy. I already fixed this once, if you attempt to change it again, I will have to report you for violating this policy. 73.166.250.111 (talk) 15:15, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No need to report anything, I was unaware of the policy and thought G-d was the proper terminology. I will fix this issue now. Estherdvorkin (talk) 02:52, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
