Thanks for your input. Although I think that the "Other artists earning two number ones during 2008 are" sentence by having artist, two citations, artist, two citations, artist, two citations, etc is a bit jarring and annoying to read. Perhaps include fewer and list the songs to lengthen out the prose of that sentence without so many interruptions of citations making it less apparent. AARONTALK 14:43, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, if you want to flesh out that sentence, go for it. Just figured that it would be best to mention ALL two-number-ones artists instead of highlighting just a few. - eo (talk) 15:22, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Foo Fighters discography

Ok so you have won me over on updating the Foo Fighters 'Studio Albums' table and keeping it to 10 charts. Can I just ask, will this be done for other tables on the Foo Fighters discography ? Some time ago I narrowed down the 'Singles' table to 12 charts but then someone added the Canadian Alternative chart, which I am not sure if it is even an official chart so maybe that should go. Somewhere in Wiki guidlines it states to use charts that are relative to the band's success. So for the Foo Fighter's singles table I think it is important to keep the US Hot 100, US Airplay, US Alternative, U Maintstream Rock, Australian Singles Chart, Canadian Singles Chart, Irish Singles Chart, Netherlands Singles Chart, New Zealand Singles Chart, Swedish Singles Chart and UK Singles Chart. That is 12 charts, I know but they are all relative. If two have to go to bring it down to 10 then maybe the Irish and Swedish singles charts, but I think they are both relative. I am not bothered if you take away the Canadian Alternative Chart as it seems to be unofficial anyway.mjgm84 (talk) 14:31, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would either discuss on the article's talk page, or you may want to check in with User:Igordebraga. Looks like Igordebraga started the tables change and put the tag at the top of the article... perhaps he had planned specific charts to keep and can contribute to the discussion also. - eo (talk) 17:41, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Foo Fighters discography

I'm going to be on a plane when my full protection of Foo Fighters discography (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) expires on Sept. 19. Both QuintusPetillius and Cathartica have been warned against resuming the edit war, and QuintusPetillius has made good-faith efforts to discuss it. Cathartica has not. If Cathartica reverts shortly after the protection expires without doing any discussion, I plan on blocking him. Please keep an eye on it, and take care of it for me if a shooting war starts while I am in the air.—Kww(talk) 17:03, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:HeartWhatAboutLove.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:HeartWhatAboutLove.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Question/help

Hi Eric, I see you're an administrator and you contribute to the Record chart WikiProject so I was hoping you could give me some advice on a problem regarding an IP user (184.58.18.72). To try and keep it short, Taylor Swift's song "Begin Again" was released last month as a promo single from Red, and Oct. 1 it was sent to country radio as an official single. This user refuses to accept this and continues to change the single to "promotional" on several pages and a template, even though sources have been provided as proof it is an official single. On Talk:Begin Again (Taylor Swift song) he provides 9 sources to support himself, but they don't actually say what he is claiming. He engaged in edit warring resulting in the page being protected twice, personally attacked me on my talk page, falsely is warning me on my talk page, and is threatening to "shut Wikipedia down" on the admin's talk page who protected "Begin Again". Is any of this enough to warrant a block or something? Thank you if you read this far. :) NYSMtalk page 07:13, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've left warnings on his talk page - this is good. I'm checking thru his edits to see what else is going on; it looks to me as if he does not have a source to show that it is still a promotional-only song. And obviously it doesn't matter what "Tay" thinks it is (we're very close, I can call her that). For now I have re-semi-protected the article. - eo (talk) 12:21, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You need to stop stopping my son from posting correct information on that page, the person above has called him names cause my son proved him wrong and he didn't like it and so resorted to calling my son names and not listening and is the one who is constantly reverting his edits and for you to support this person and his behavior is wrong and I should write you up to Wikipedia because you support people who name call and my son is only 15 years old and is smarter then you and I personally do not find it appropriate what you have said here about him and you both should not be editing on this site if you are going to sit there and be rude cause he is right and you guys don't like it. Now it is your choice allow him to post the correct information or have me write you up for ganging up and name calling a 15 year old child. Your choice. So you can see what this man has said here is quotes of his inappropriate bahviour: "your comments are just laughable", "you might be a few bricks shy of a full load." and "you're hopeless" and your are supporting this action that are inappropriate and are a result of my son proving him wrong and he didn't like it. Also I do not appreciate our personal IP address posted on this site you really need to set up an anonymous account for people who do not have an account with your website as posting someone's personal IP address on any site is illegal and opens their computers to be hacked.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.58.18.72 (talk) 15:53, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't want "your son" leaving your IP address on pages then either create an account or don't edit Wikipedia. - eo (talk) 17:05, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If his current edit war continues or escalates (likey, I'm afraid), then please note he has "history":

Same technique as he's using now both with you: changing words in the lede, moving pages, endless edit- and move-wars. He's also battling over "railway station" vs "train station" at the moment, as can be seen in his recent edits. Cross porpoises (talk) 09:58, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Why are are the tables for:

completely fucked up!?!? The tables are not how I formatted them, though they look the same when you click on edit?? AARONTALK 23:07, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Whoa...yeah, totally strange! And they look fine at first when the page loads, then after about 2 seconds all the columns go crazy. The same thing happens when I click on an earlier version of the page too. Some kind of technical thing? - eo (talk) 12:09, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. Same thing is happening with the dance chart lists that you revamped, too. - eo (talk) 12:10, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thing if you actually go back to before I started making the changes, the tables are fine. They were fine when I looked a few days ago too. There's nothing wrong with the formatting when you click edit, it's exactly the same, and no one hasn't edited the lists since me. I'm really confused! It looks awful! The dance charts are less obvious though as it's 99% a different singer every week. AARONTALK 12:11, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely odd, I'm thinking its a technical issue in wikipedia... can we find another article that has similar tables and see if it's occurring there too? - eo (talk) 12:17, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I just looked at the Hot 100 lists and they are but, but they haven't been edited like how I have improved them AARONTALK 12:19, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It has something to do with rowspans that equal more than 1. There's gotta be another article we can check (e.g. not any of the number-one lists) to see if it's happening elsewhere. - eo (talk) 12:24, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It wasn't doing it a few days ago, and the formatting is the same still. I don't know of any other lists :-/ AARONTALK 12:28, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

←Well they still look fucked up 12 hours later, although I checked them out on my smartphone (using a Wikipedia app) and they look fine. This entire thing is weird and it makes me anxious... I don't like them looking weird! Did you by any chance see an example of this in any other articles? - eo (talk) 23:48, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No I haven't. AARONTALK 12:27, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Worked it out yet? Lol. AARONTALK 22:50, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Issue with the discography article

This is getting ridiculous. I am not trying to be rude or anything, but I had added reasonable and reliable sources for citations next to the songs (most of them were audio and news outlets; I mean what part do you not understand when it's fully documented & solid proof?) If you would like me to correctly cite it with the date and publisher (I am aware that I did not do so on most of them) please unblock the article so that I may go in and fix it. Some of those songs that are currently on the discography section are incorrect and she was not featured on them. A lot of the actual featured songs are missing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.115.168.7 (talk) 17:41, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1988, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Joe Esposito (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hot Dance Club Songs

Do you think Hot Dance Club Songs should be renamed? Only problem is: Billboard.biz calls it Dance Club Songs while Billboard.com has it as Dance/Club Play Songs. My preference would be to Dance Club Songs with a redirect created for the other. Also, what about the lists of number-one dance songs. Billboard has so many dance charts that number-one dance hits or dance singles seems ambiguous. Maybe List of number-one dance hits (United States) could provide links to all the various lists (say, merge List of number one dance airplay hits (United States) into it) and the individual lists such as List of number-one dance singles of 2013 (U.S.) should be moved to something like List of number-one Dance Club Songs of 2013 or List of number-one Billboard Dance Club Songs of 2013. Thanks. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 00:26, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if we need to rename it again. I do think perhaps the by-year number-one lists should be renamed. "Dance" seems a bit to vague at this point, especially since Billboard just unveiled a new "Dance" chart that combines sales, airplay and club play. - eo (talk) 14:07, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bryan Adams

Chartbot keeps whining about Bryan Adams, because it can't find him. Apparently, Allmusic and Billboard have both deleted him as an artist on their websites. I can find individual links (like http://www.billboard.com/charts/1994-02-19/adult-contemporary) but note that "Bryan Adams" isn't a clickable link even though every other artist on the chart is. Can you check and see if he's been deleted from billboard.biz as well?—Kww(talk) 16:06, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, very odd. I was able to find him in .biz's database. - eo (talk) 16:53, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
After Chartbot has completed its first pass, I'll have a list of broken links that I couldn't repair. I could give them to you, and, if you will look up chart dates, I'll be able to create links to individual charts. This is bizarre, and, according to his article, done at his request.—Kww(talk) 17:02, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. I checked for a "Brian" misspelling and I also looked to see if they put him under A and no luck. I searched for some of his songs and albums and they're just missing. - eo (talk) 17:03, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
