Weezer

You mean that the weekly chart highlights on Radio and Records/Billboard doesn't help? It shows that Pork and Beans is at number 1 on the Alternative/Modern Rock charts. {BravesFan2006} 02:11 PM, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Another question I have the page where I said Weezer was number one. Can I repost my article on Wednesday afternoon when Billboard publishes its chart? Also if you can, you could help me with the succession box. {BravesFan2006} 02:26 PM, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Boom Boom

Hey there, I have a favor to ask, and you seemed like the logical choice for this, based on your extensive knowledge of dance music. A while back I created a page for the Paul Lekakis song, "Boom Boom (Let's Go Back to My Room)", since it's probably his best-known song, and one I remember fondly. Since then the page has been tagged for no references or sources. When I created it, I used info from the artist page as well as some info I got from various websites, which I didn't cite (and don't remember), but I believe most of what I posted is true. My question: do you have any sources that could verify this info, and if so would you mind doing so? I'm thinking specifically of the Billboard Hot Dance/Disco book, which I don't have, and I thought you might. Earlier tonight I added a link to the #1 Australian songs of the 80s, but any help you could give that page would be appreciated. Thanks. Zephyrnthesky (talk) 01:22, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I figured you had that book, I want to get it too. I've added some things to that article, but one part I'm unsure about is if it didn't hit the Club Play chart when it first came out. Maybe there's a note about that somewhere in the book? Anyway, thanks in advance, man! Zephyrnthesky (talk) 01:16, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Just thought I'd let you know that I found a couple of references for this song and it's pop chart peak positions in the US, UK and Australia. I kind of had to teach myself how to do this today, meaning citing references and all that, and I hope I got it right. Were you ever able to check the Whitburn Dance book and see if anything is listed about this song? I gotta get that book someday... Zephyrnthesky (talk) 18:34, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm sure it will turn up. I appreciate you checking that out and for the suggestions (I remember not being sure whether it would be Lekakis's or Lekakis' when I created the page, so I just used Paul's instead). So just now when I changed those, first I went to the apostrophe page here on wikipedia, and I still couldn't figure it out, so I just guessed. But using his last name does seem less informal. I've been busying myself in Hot Adult Contemporary-land lately, instead of randomly picking dance songs and adding links, so I'll check back sometime later. Thanks again dude :-) Zephyrnthesky (talk) 21:04, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Billboard 200

I am disappointed that you reverted something I put on the Billboard 200 page. I consider myself to be a serious writer of content, not a troll. I checked my Talk and User pages, as well as the discussion for that page, but I found no explanation. I will put this back over the weekend if I don't get feedback by then. Would you kindly review the discussion here? Number-one albums of 1963 (USA) I made a correction earlier and someone else undid it. I have never redone any reversed corrections, so I'd like your opinion on it. It appears that this user may not be a chart expert and therefore shouldn't be undoing these changes. What is your opinion? Petepait (talk) 05:03, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Could I ask you to cast a critical eye on this article. In recent times, a relatively new user, Yesmissy, has been making a string of edits. I feel they are in danger of turning a half-decent Wikipedia article into a fansite; with POV, incorrect formatting, excessive use of bold type, and completely unsourced, biased comments creeping in throughout. It is not vandalism as such, but I think it is downgrading the whole article. However this is purely my view - (POV) again. Your second opinion would be much appreciated. Many thanks again,

Sticky & Sweet Tour

Hi, could you please take a look at Crackers2007 and his/her making edits to Sticky & Sweet Tour. He/She continues to add dates for Mexico, Brazil and Montenegro. The first time, he/she claimed that Madonna announced that dates on a Mexican talk show the 2nd+ times after, he/she provided a link to a site that doesn't mentioned Madonna. More recently, he/she claims that Live Nation announced the dates in a press release. I have contacted Live Nation and they have stated that there are no dates for Mexico or South America but they are in talks. Asking a favor here. You seem like the right editor for this, considering the nature of the disagreement, and your longtime caretaking role on the "Billboard achievements/milestones" page.

Hi

Though I didn't add any more minor charts/component charts, you keep reverting all my edits. This severely distresses me because I'm doing what WP:CHARTS observes. Also, even when I add the correct chart names, you revert the changes back to inaccurate names. 216.221.109.89 (talk) 20:07, 18 June 2008 (UTC) Also, Lativa, and Lithuania do not have official national singles charts, they have only Airplay Charts.216.221.109.89 (talk) 20:13, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Disruptive user

After weeks of reverting, or page blanking at Viva la Vida, Violet Hill, and Coldplay discography, by User:Atlantik (talk|contribs), it still does not relent. His most recent edits have been comprised of sneaky, non-summarized[1], or vaguely and simplistically summarized reverting of my own valid edits, and as well as blind non-caring reversions of not only my edits, but in some cases, many users [2], or even dozens of users' edits([3])... As well as he has sneakily removed a warning I gave him ([4]) One edit has him simply stating "Trivia", as if to imply he was removing trivia, but clearly he was removing more than that: ([5]) Also he reverted this with no edit summary, and later made a highly hypocritical edit re-adding information I had removed due it being content exceeding the chart limit mentioned at WP:CHARTS, which shows he clearly is only out to revert my edits, otherwise if I had added them he would have reverted me anyway. Also, I do observe WP:CHARTS in my editing, but still Atlantik persists in sneakily reverting my changes, and again not including a summary of his edit.[6]

I know that he himself knows of the chart limit, and also his edits after showing that he knows of it even seem to prove that he simply is on a personal reverting series against me. I have already given him maximum warnings, but he vandalized the maximum warning template that I placed on his talk page without an edit summary. If I were to warn him again (which I am considering), I would be giving him four additional warnings for today alone, clearly meaning his warning limit has been exceeded. another revert on a different user's many edits 216.221.123.212 (talk) 22:49, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Triping defied your final warning

I think it's clear that this edit is Triping editing anonymously. My primary evidence is [the Ashley Tisdale discography edit history], which was being disrupted by 190.82.219.250, 190.82.206.75, 190.82.216.102, etc. Once it was semiprotected, Triping began to log in to perform the identical edits. 190.82.224.42 is pretty clearly the same editor.

Madonna Tour Articles

Hi. When you get the chance, could you please take a look over Madonna's tour articles. From VT to RIT, I fixed broken links, cleaned up the text, re-verified refs and layout so that each article has a consistent flow with one another, however, Jwad has reverted all of my edits for what I feel is b/c he doesn't like them. I feel he is gonna edit war with this so I felt it was appropriate to ask an admin to step in. Thanks Alkclark (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 01:25, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Madonna tour sections

I am not getting into an edit war with Alkclark (talk). I do not agree with the way this user has reconstructed the Madonna tour pages, as quite frankly it is ridiculous to read about the history of the subject at the bottom of the page. The setlist is not the most important part of the pages. The pages should be progressive and lead the viewer through the history of the subject in order - not in an unstructured way.

I suggest that you ask Alkclark (talk) to read: Wikipedia:Manual of Style as they have changed these pages which was unnecessary:

  • It is inappropriate for an editor to change an article from one style to another unless there is a substantial reason to do so; for example, it is unacceptable to change from American to British spelling unless the article concerns a British topic. Edit warring over optional styles is unacceptable. If an article has been stable in a given style, it should not be converted without a reason that goes beyond mere choice of style. When it is unclear whether an article has been stable, defer to the style used by the first major contributor.

I hope you can clear up this matter. JWAD (talk)

Guys I took at look at both versions and while I don't see a problem with the content, I think it makes more sense in this case to place the track list at the end of the article. It's much the same way an album's page would be set up - with an intro, the history, etc., then the track list below it. If the track lists are at the top of the other Madonna tour articles, then I think that those should be changed, not the other way around. Alkclark - besides other Madonna Tour articles, have you seen any others that have a set list before the history and details of the tour? Just wondering. - eo (talk) 18:28, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
The Madonna tour sections only have the setlist at the beginning of the articles because Alkclark changed them to this format, before this user did this it was the correct order:- Intro, History and then details of The Show, Setlist, Cities etc. It has been like this for a long time. I suggest that these edits are reverted back to the old style as this is correct and in line with the Wikipedia:Manual of Style as mentioned above. Thanks JWAD (talk)

Hello. I just did a major edit to this article and its now up for FL status. Another editor (91.105.150.134) does not agree with the edits because they do not include what they believe should be in the article. Fair use rationale for Image:Shakespears_Sister.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Shakespears_Sister.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
