Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Eldar! I'm Celestianpower. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". Hello. If you do make a mistake, that's fine, we'll assume good faith and just correct you: it'll take a few seconds maximum! Here, however, are a few links to get you started:

There are lots of policies and guidelines to get to grips with but they all make your life easier and your stay more fun in the long run. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or add {{helpme}} to your userpage - someone will come very, very quickly to your aid. Chocolate[edit]

In the 22 hours or so since I unprotected chocolate it received exactly 2 vandalism edits, both of which were reverted almost instantaneously. If you insist on protection you can try going to Wikipedia:Requests for Page Protection, but I doubt very much that protection would be granted.

It is not our practice to permanently semiprotect articles (with the odd exception, e.g. George W. Bush)- it is important to wikipedia's growth that new users can participate in this project without too much restriction.

I have put the page on my watchlist, so to contribute an extra pair of eyes to its care. But chocolate, for now is not receiving any more vandal attention than is normal. Borisblue 23:19, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chocolate[edit]

The Chocolate article received heavy editing today by unregistered users, which I noticed at WikiRage.com. The article may benefit from a good review. According to Wikipedia Page History Statistics, you are one of the top contributors to that page. If you have the time, would you please read over the article and make any necessary changes. Thanks. -- Jreferee (Talk) 02:14, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for doing that revert. I was watching that page and saw the questionable contribution, but was too timid to revert it myself. Next time I will be bolder. Chewyrunt (talk) 23:52, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted material[edit]

Hi. Could you restore the deleted material you removed from chocolate in your last revert, and add it to the talk page for others to review? Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 00:03, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks!  :) Viriditas (talk) 03:53, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I am relatively new to Wikipedia as an editor, and so I am happy to receive help on how best to edit. (And my apologies if this is not the right place to insert my comment). I should say that I am an agricultural scientist and resident in a tropical country with quite a bit of experience with the cultivation, quality production of cocoa, including chocolate making. So, I guess I know what I am talking about. Having said that, I 'd appreciate Eldar giving me his/her reasons why my edit of yesterday was removed. The two issues I raise are important to the sustainability of the chocolate industry (certainly more so than the linguistic subtleties of the article). My first "claim" is not a POV. I provide the pdf source of a scholarly article that reviews much academic literature, concluding that cocoa and coffee production leads to much environmental degradation, particularly the loss of forest cover. Even the chocolate industry is hugely concerned about that (see last COPAL congress). The second claim is about about the threat emanating from he spread of fungal cocoa diseases. This is of huge importance to the chocolate industry. I would agree that I should perhaps add an additional source to back up this claim, but why does Eldar remove my reference to the "guidelines for the safe movement of cacao". Why should the interested reader not be referred to an article describing best practices that are of utmost global importance? It is a publication by a scientific institution internationally known for their research? Kamayav (talk) 19:43, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will put my reasoning on the Chocolate talk page so we can continue there. Eldar (talk) 21:47, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Elasto Mania[edit]

Hi Eldar, you should know that I've taken Elasto Mania to AfD, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elasto Mania, since you contested the proposed deletion. I'm also concerned about the notability (WP:N) and verification (WP:V) of X-Moto and Bike or Die. Perhaps you know of some good sources for information for these games (professional reviews, etc)? Thanks, Marasmusine (talk) 20:37, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Eldar, could you please revert the changes you have made to this article?
Thanks for considering reverting those, Twipley (talk) 18:00, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
