Advice on getting started at editing Wikipedia

My advice to new editors is that it is best to start by making small improvements to existing articles, rather than creating new articles. That way any mistakes you make will be small ones, and you won't have the discouraging experience of repeatedly seeing hours of work deleted. Gradually, you will get to learn how Wikipedia works, and after a while you will know enough about what is acceptable to be able to write whole new articles without fear that they will be deleted. Over the years I have found that editors who start by making small changes to existing articles and work up from there have a far better chance of having a successful time here than those who jump right into creating new articles from the start. Hi Sir, My name is Piyush Panchal and I stay in Indore, India. I was new to wikipedia. Unfortunately, before creating username, did not read the policy and so made this mistake. I signed up on wiki to make an article about Edelweiss Broking Limited and why I felt a need to write about this entity because it has an office near my residence. I knew about it for a significant time but never knew how big this firm is. I recently came to know that it is a fast growing brand in India but I could not find it on wikipedia. So, I felt that this should be my very first article. But being a beginner I made a mistake of naming my username as the name of the company itself. JamesBWatson just informed me that I should have requested for unblokc instead of creating new id as User:piyushpanc , I am really sorry for all this inconvenience caused to you all. Since you already have an account with an acceptable user name at Piyushpanc, would you prefer us to unblock that account, rather than unblocking and renaming this one?
