Speedy deletion of Terry King[edit]

A tag has been placed on Terry King requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Terry King. Your edits have been automatically marked as unconstructive/possible vandalism and have been automatically reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page. If your edit was not vandalism, please feel free to make your edit again after reporting it. The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Terry King was changed by Dttower (u) (t) replacing entire content with something else on 2009-02-07T04:00:47+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot (talk) 04:00, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PROD[edit]

You should only have added it to the top, not replaced the whole article. I do not have sufficient permissions to delete the article, and such a request should go through the proper channels anyway, such as PROD. Feel free to readd the {{prod}}, but do not replace the whole article with the notice. Thanks, neuro(talk) 04:08, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Terry King[edit]

PLease do not delete content from articles or their talk pages simply because you don't believe that they are notable. Especially as it appears that you have a conflict of interest with this particular article. Continuing to do so can be construed as vandalism and could get you blocked.---I'm Spartacus! 76.244.71.77, you seem to imply here that you are Dttower. If you are indeed Dttower, please log in as Dttower before editing; this makes it much easier to see who is saying what.

You seem to have backed off from your claim that a poker player spammed Wikipedia, and are now saying that Terry King (the poker player) simply isn't noteworthy. Having absolutely no knowledge of or interest in poker, I can't comment; however, on Talk:Terry King I've told you what to do about your conviction.

You're also saying that you've helped literally 10 people get biographies on Wikipedia [...] and yet it gets deleted (my emphases). I don't know whether you're talking about ten or one. Anyway, if you'd name one or two worthy people whose articles were deleted, I'll take a look at the deleted articles.

I do note that on 30 December 2008 you created an article on Jacques Guilbert that read in its entirety "Jacques Guilbert", and one minute later created a similar article on Terry King, with the edit summary "Starting Page for Terry King, Photographer for reference on Demarchelier".

In particular, you name a cello-playing Terry King. If such a person merits an article, you can create it with the title Terry King (musician). If you think two or more musicians named Terry King merit articles, you can instead title it Terry King (cellist), Terry King (Australian musician), Terry King (Australian cellist), etc. If the resulting article is satisfactory, I or somebody else who's experienced in these things will make the necessary changes to the existing article on the poker-playing Terry King. -- Hoary (talk) 01:28, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
