Welcome![edit]

Hello, DrTerryDJones, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited was Dove World Outreach Center, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! - MrX 19:08, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

October 2012[edit]

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles, such as the edit you made to Dove World Outreach Center. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. Please do not sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. - MrX 14:22, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Dove World Outreach Center has been reverted.
Your edit here to Dove World Outreach Center was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/user/StandUpAmericaNow) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 20:00, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Who you are[edit]

Please explain who is using this account. The post on the user page is confusing as to whether this account is being used by a single individual, by multiple individuals, or by Jones himself.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:50, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The account is being used by the organization staff of Dr Terry Jones. Stand Up America Now. We are on a learning curve about how to edit in Wikipedia. We just want to get accurate information in the articles. We appreciate any help or suggestions you can give. btw were the copyright violations in the text only or in the citations, or the section you deleted?DrTerryDJones (talk) 19:32, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The copyright violations were in the text of the section I deleted. You had cited sources, but much of the text in the Wikipedia article (Terry Jones (pastor)) was copied from those sources. That's not allowed.
As a separate matter, you are not permitted to have what is called a role account. Wikipedia accounts must belong to a single individual, and all edits made with that account must be by the account owner (the individual). If you want to have different people editing articles at Wikipedia, then each of them has to have a separate account (and declare any conflicts they have in the articles they edit). So, if you want to continue editing here, you can't use this account to do so. Let me know if you have any questions.--Bbb23 (talk) 04:27, 8 November 2012 (UTC)--Bbb23 (talk) 04:27, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
