Hi, Steel – this page is in the user space because the bots, when they zip by and check the latest date in a talk-page section, expect to see the date as part of a user sig, so they key in on the sig, check the associated date and behave accordingly. One can achieve a "never-archive" section status simply by including no dates at all in the talk-page section. Check out the first section at Talk:God. To editor Checkingfax: there is no max that I know of. The default value for the template (if no number of days is given in the first parameter) is 3650 days (10 years). As far as I know, as long as the comment is in a thread, it won't be subject to be archived until whatever date is entered. Paine Ellsworth ^put'r there 01:39, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
