As the reviewing administrator, I think the article asserts some importance, so not a speedy. But it must have some 3rd party independent reliable published sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases) DGG (talk) 22:17, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

May 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Nina Hunt. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Some advice[edit]

Wikipedia can be frustrating if you don't understand the policies and guidelines (and even then it can be frustrating). You have probably already read WP:YFA and WP:BIO, but it might help if you also read WP:PROVEIT. I've restored the AfD tag that you removed from the article - please let the process finish. Thanks. Speedy deletion of Dimitri Petrides[edit]

A tag has been placed on Dimitri Petrides requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Dimitri[edit]

I'm sorry to see the buzzards got to the embryo Dimitri Petrides article. I saw both Nina and Dimitri in action 25 or so years ago, and they were both notable in WP terms. Dimitri was one of only half-a-dozen dancers who started to codify latin dance, which has grown ever since. He was also a champion competitive dancer. So, I'm going to restart his article, after a pause for planning it. Once it goes up the system will alert the buzzards again, so we need to reinforce the article with well-referenced facts. Unfortunately, on WP, knowing something is true is not enough! Anyway, I thought you'ld like to know; you can get me on my talk page. Macdonald-ross (talk) 18:54, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
