April 2010[edit]

In a recent edit, you changed one or more words from one international variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For subjects exclusively related to Britain (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to other English-speaking countries, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the appropriate variety of English used there. If it is an international topic, use the same form of English the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to the other, even if you don't normally use the version the article is written in. Respect other people's versions of English. They in turn should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you have any queries about all this, you can ask me on my talk page or you can visit the help desk. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 14:19, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. March 2022[edit]

Information icon

Hello Deviloper. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Mikheil Lomtadze, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Deviloper. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Deviloper|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. scope_creepTalk 12:16, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance with finance articles[edit]

Hello Deviloper. I responded to your message on my talk page. I regret that it took me so long to do so! I concur with Wikipedia's decision regarding those particular edits. I visited your page and read the message prior to mine (there is so much mark up that I am having trouble discerning the name). I saw some of the edits you had been making in past. They were updates of information about financial companies in Central Asia, and sometimes in the West. They were good edits. They were small incremental improvements to the articles.

It is important that you do not do any editing if it is a conflict of interest (COI). I have worked with COI editors before. There is a procedure for that. I can give you the Wiki name of a nice man with whom I worked on Wikipedia financial edits in such a situation. He is a productive editor and isn't associated with anything scammy. He would probably be willing to guide you through the instructions you received already um from user scope creep. User scope creep's instructions aren't unduly burdensome, as long as you are editing in good faith.

Generally, I am a deletionist and do not personally like paid editing! For financial companies, and for finance ministries of many nations, it can be difficult to get up to date information. When appropriate procedures are followed, COI editors can be very helpful. I also realize that all COI editors are not paid editors. If I can be of assistance to you in the future, please reply on my talk page.--FeralOink (talk) 22:32, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
