Minimizing direct quotations

Hi, Deanna! Just took a quick look at your new article and wanted to provide some suggestions to you, in case you're interested in editing the article more, rather than just going in to edit. First of all, great job wit using a good number of references (and creating in-line citations), which look pretty reliable. I do recommend trying to minimize the direct quotations, though. The great thing about in-line citations is that you don't have to necessarily point to the scholar explicitly within the text. Then, you can summarize the scholars' points, instead. Be careful not to paraphrase too closely—it's fun practice for synthesizing information, since you have to take in what they wrote and present it in a slightly new way. I hope that helps!
