I certainly do agree wth your AfC declines, but you might consider whether to list the very most promotional of them for G11, because theyshouldn't sit here even in draft space, andthey are otherwise likely to be resubmitted repeatedly without improvement. DGG ( talk ) 04:01, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

Clarification for my edit in the Upin & Ipin Article page

Good day David.moreno72,

I would like to thank you for your referrences and help that was posted in my talk page. I'm a fresh newbie here in Wikipedia and am still learning how to handle proper article making in Wikipedia. I would like to apologize in advance for any misconducts or problems I have caused for now, as I'm still confused with the organization in Wikipedia. Now, referring to the subject stated above, I would like to know why my changes were reverted back on Upin & Ipin. Just to clarify my changes, I've:

1) Removed the nicknames that were put with the characters, the ones in brackets. For example "Opah (Grandma Olive)". The name used in the bracket is false, even in the english dubbings of the show, the name is retained as the original Opah. This applies to all of the characters listed in the page, therefore I have corrected them.

2) I've updated the seasons for the Upin & Ipin page. The series is still ongoing, and I've noticed that the article had stopped at season 8. The show is currently on season 11, and I've tried updating it from season 8 onwards as it is outdated.

3) Upin & Ipin had been awarded as a Tourism ambassador of Malaysia recently and I wanted to update their achievement onto the page.

4) I've tried to include Upin & Ipin infobox with the production company "Les' Copaque Production" as it is missing from the infobox.

I'm not sure if I'm doing things wrong, but if I am please do inform me as I am willing to cooperate as I learn how to operate independently on Wikipedia. Thank you very much for your time, David.NetizenNoWork (talk) 02:06, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi NetizenNoWork. You are welcome to make changes, as long as they comply with Wikipedia policies. The changes that you made were very promotional sounding, and so violated WP:PROMO. I have also removed content that did not comply with MOS:AM. Thank you David.moreno72 02:16, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Thank you very much for clarifying the reasons. I'm sorry for asking too much, but could you please point out to me what sounded too promotional and/or the contents that did not comply with MOS:AM? Thank you again for taking time to answer my inquiries. NetizenNoWork (talk) 02:21, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi NetizenNoWork. Since you have stated that you have a close association with the company, and are unable to write in an objective manner, I STRONGLY urge you to NOT make any further edits regarding any content that is associated with "Les' Copaque Production" as otherwise you may have your account blocked per WP:WHYBLOCK. Thank you David.moreno72 02:29, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Thank you again for your concern, David. If I were to be able to review my writing style and continue in a neutral, unbiased tone, is it alright if I continue to do "further edits regarding any content that is associated with "Les' Copaque Production"". I have learnt from my mistakes and would like to redo it as a more neutral and unbiased article that fits the Wikipedia criteria. Regards. NetizenNoWork (talk) 02:37, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi NetizenNoWork. You may claim that 'I have learnt from my mistakes and would like to redo it as a more neutral and unbiased article that fits the Wikipedia criteria' but your edit history shows otherwise. So just one minute after you made the claim you decided to recreate the Draft:Les' Copaque Production Sdn Bhd draft, a draft that was already declined as spam. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's strict policy on WP:SPAM and WP:COI you risk being blocked. Consider this your final warning. End of conversation. David.moreno72 03:50, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

David.moreno72, I had no ill intention to do so, the main reason why I recreated the draft was for me to slowly review and re-edit my article to a more neutral article. I assumed that as a draft, it would be fine for me to bring back something wikipedia considers spam to be refined as a better article. I don't know where else I can work on it as from my understanding, a draft is not final and should not be a problem unless submitted for approval. Am I not allowed to recreate and slowly re-edit the Draft:Les' Copaque Production Sdn Bhd draft? Only once I'm confident of the changes only I should resubmit it, correct? I don't wish to sound hostile with you as I honestly don't understand how editing a private (declined) draft before resubmitting it is a problem. It was stated on the notice that "You are encouraged to make improvements by clicking on the "Edit" tab at the top of this page."

My point here is, would it be best I re-edit and improve this Draft:Les' Copaque Production Sdn Bhd draft or start a new one with the help of the article wizard with a similar title of Les' Copaque Production Sdn Bhd. I understand I'm taking up your time, and I don't wish to bother you further about this, I'm very sorry.NetizenNoWork (talk) 04:24, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Xeryus Gittens. To establish notability, there needs to be a minimum of 3 independent, reliable sources that have extensive coverage. All the references you have supplied are either interviews, and so are not independent, or are passing mentions, and so are not extensive. I'm sorry, but you do not satisfy WP:GNG. /*KAMAU Wiki Page*/

Hi David, I saw you reviewed and declined the page KAMAU noting it was not notable enough. I added another reference to the part where it discusses his music featured in Madden NFL 17. I figured if you are featured in a video game you should be notable enough. He also worked with other artists that indeed have Wiki pages and those artists are No Wyld. I can't think what more is required to make this page verifiable, I know it's a small page but there are thousands of small pages on musicians. If you could, leave ideas on how to make the KAMAU page even better. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hit Them Folks (talkcontribs) 20:22, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Hit Them Folks. The main problem is that you have a lot of unreliable references. You need to remove all the YouTube references as they are not permitted, and replace them with reliable references. You must also ensure that the subject passes the criteria set down in WP:MUSICBIO, verified with reliable sources. It would seem that criteria 10 (Has performed music for a work of media that is notable) is the closest candidate, but the Madden 17 soundtrack is not notable enough as it does not have it's own Wikipedia article. So per criteria 10, and WP:BIO1E it would seem that at present the subject is not notable enough to have an article in Wikipedia. Thank you David.moreno72 00:52, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Hello again, following the criteria, why is a page like Ian Kamau so notable then? As it only has one reference with fewer music listed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hit Them Folks (talkcontribs) 01:54, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Hit Them Folks. If you consider the Ian Kamau page to be not notable, you are welcome to nominate it for deletion. Regarding your submission, unfortunately WP:MUSICBIO does not include a section that a subject can have a Wikipedia. page simply another page exists. If you wish to have the page accepted, you will need to show that it passes WP:MUSICBIO. Thank you David.moreno72 02:03, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

I see your point, I don’t want to make it sound like I’m justifying that a subject should have a page just because another one does, but there is a point within the lines. And I’m all for the Ian Kamau page, I like that it is there, but my analogy between the two points is a point about the subject, no need for reply as I see the page will not be published :/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hit Them Folks (talkcontribs) 21:56, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Feedback on Spaceslide article for submission

Hi David,

Thanks for reviewing the article:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Spaceslide

I understand that there are suggestions to be made on references independent to the subject, however I do believe there are strong examples there. One example is the ITV website, which is a national British TV station. Spaceslide is listed on this page (http://www.itv.com/60minutemakeover/makeovers?page=7), as being featured on the TV show '60 minute makeovers'.

Please can you offer any advice on how I can improve referencing to get this approved?

Thanks in advance for the advice, Georgina — Preceding unsigned comment added by Georginablue25 (talkcontribs) 12:12, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

Redundant drafts

Hello David. We both noticed the recent creation of yet another redundant and identical copy of Draft:Pan African University Debate Championship (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). By consulting WP:CSD I fail to find a relevant criteria for such. Are these normally ignored and left to rot for six months, unless brought to attention at MfD (which seems overkill for such routine maintenance)? In this case some previous copies were deleted by an admin who appeared to notice (but I find no MfD archive entry). Thanks, —PaleoNeonate – 23:21, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Paleo. I'm not really sure on that one. Unless they are G5 or G11 I just let them G13 after six months. Cheers. David.moreno72 00:28, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, —PaleoNeonate – 00:43, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
PaleoNeonate, if you find a draft that is 100% a copy (or near enough) just redirect it to the original. If the original is G13'd or otherwise deleted the redir will also be taken care of. There's no point in keeping duplicate copies of things around just because we cannot "technically" delete them. Primefac (talk) 02:30, 9 November 2017 (UTC) (talk page stalker)

Rejection of New Page for OPNSense Firewall - Invalid Reference

Hi David

I noticed that you had rejected my submission of page for OPNSense stating that one of the references is not allowed. I assume that this is because the reference is to a blog post. OPNSense is an Open Source Firewall with regular updates. The project has two major updates a year and minor updates every month. The minor updates are important from a security standpoint as these are normally issued to correct bugs and close security issues. The announcement of the release is only through the blog post which I had referenced. OPNSense Release Announcement Only the major releases are referenced through the web page directly OPNSense Roadmap. I do not see any other way to reference the release and the only other solution would be to remove the reference which I believe is not correct. Hagennos (talk) 03:59, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Hagennos. I'm sorry, but it states in WP:UGC that forums are generally not acceptable. Thank you David.moreno72 06:00, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

Thank you. I will be removing reference to the blog and refer to the main branch.

Hagennos (talk) 06:22, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi David,

I haved added multiple references to the OPNSense Firewall independent of the Project's Web page and also provided a reference to the OPNSense's German Wikipedia page. Hope these would suffice for the references.

Decline of Florida Educational Research Association

Hi David, You declined the Florida Educational Research Association page that I created. I am not sure how to address this issue of notability. We are mentioned on some university websites and other professional associations, but we don't have really any news sources that would be considered credible. How should I address this issue? We are trying to improve our digital presence for the association and its journal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aritzhaupt (talkcontribs) 02:29, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Good Afternoon,

I'm having a bit of trouble it seems. I was attempting to create an article and I am unsure of the error that I made. I tried resubmitting it and I am not sure if I did it correctly.

Can you help please?

Regards.

@David Coulthrust:.I strongly suggest that you do NOT resubmit. Per WP:PROMO, WP:COI and WP:AB, and I quote, 'Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is an example of conflict of interest editing and is strongly discouraged.' In addition, your submission fails the basic requirement of WP:GNG. Thank you. David.moreno72 00:39, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi WorldNewsWatcher. There seems to be two major problems. One, you did not declare your conflict of interest, a violation of Wikipedia's terms of use, and two, the page that you copied from is marked with '© 2017 Free Press Kashmir. All rights reserved', which means that it is copyrighted and it's use on Wikipedia is a violation of copyright laws, hence why it was deleted. Hi WikiPHemant. For an article to be accepted it must first satisfy WP:GNG. This is done by providing a minimum of 3 sources that have significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary references that are independent of the subject. All you have is a single reference from the subject itself, and so is not independent. Thank you David.moreno72 13:40, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

Ned Kelly

The caption you added to this image states that the policeman is wearing Kelly's armour, but none of the pieces match those on display here. I think the caption should be changed for sake of accuracy. - HappyWaldo (talk) 21:44, 19 November 2017 (UTC)

Also I have added the photo collage of the policemen. I know it's your opinion that it is disrespectful to include the bushrangers in the same image, but that did not stop the artist from creating it at the time. It has since been reproduced many times, doesn't violate any Wiki policies or guidelines. All it achieves is higher quality, higher res, and greater aesthetic appeal than the other images, while using fewer images. - HappyWaldo (talk) 21:57, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi HappyWaldo. I have reverted your changes citing unexplained removal of content, violation of MOS:BLOCKQUOTE. May I remind you to use the edit summary in future. Also the change you made to the quote does not conform to the MOS. Although YOU may think it better to use a quote box, may I remind you that Wikipedia has a manual of style for quotes and that if you wish to change it you will require consensus first. Regarding the change to the photo collage of the policemen, may I suggest that you try and seek consensus on the talk page before making any major changes. If you want to make a minor change about the policeman who is wearing Kelly's armour, I am more than happy to discuss any changes. Thank you David.moreno72 23:43, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
We are the only two frequent contributors to the Ned Kelly page at this point, I'd rather we talk things over ourselves rather than involve other editors who often know little to nothing about the subject. How is the quote box violating MOS? Also I know you're big on accuracy, so I don't know why you captioned the image saying it's "Kelly's armour" when you know it's not. - HappyWaldo (talk) 00:17, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi HappyWaldo. So the MOS says 'Format a long quote (more than about 40 words or a few hundred characters, or consisting of more than one paragraph, regardless of length) as a block quotation' and on the template for the quotebox it says 'This template can be used for block quotations (long quotes set off from the main text). However, this use is not advised in articles'. In regards to the policeman photomontage, it would be much better to use actual photographs as the illustrations of the Kelly's were out of date. It shows Ned as he was when he was a teenager, without his beard which he grew after his stint in Pentridge. In regards to the caption, that was done by the person closing the RfC. The armour was what was believed at that time to be belonging to Ned. The only inaccuracy is the helmet. The armour in the photo was what was displayed for Ned's trial and later displayed at the old Melbourne aquarium. Sub Inspector Pewtress noticed that it was the wrong one. So if you want to include any of those details in the caption, you are more than welcome. Regards David.moreno72 00:32, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
The photographs are low quality scans, like something from an old newspaper. The illustrations are crisp, lifelike and high res. Compare the features of Lonigan for example in both images. The illustrated montage is a superior image at every level of analysis, and forms a nice kind of symmetry with the Mansfield monument, don't you agree? Ned's beard is a trivial detail in this case. - HappyWaldo (talk) 01:09, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi HappyWaldo. I think that the current images are fine, you don't, and I doubt that either of us are going to change our minds or reach a compromise. So, this is your classic content dispute at 20 paces. So neither of us want to go to edit war, so how about following the procedures set down in WP:CONTENTDISPUTE, say an RfC. Considering that it is you who is wishing to make the change to the status quo you should create the RfC on the talk page. (It's very easy, all the instructions are at WP:RFC) I have already done two RfC's, so it would seem fair that it's your turn now. I would certainly abide by the consensus. Regards David.moreno72 01:33, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
But which is higher quality, the illustration montage or the photo montage? Please open both links and compare. Even if the current images are "fine", do you agree that higher quality images should still be used if they are available? If it helps, we can make an additional comment in the cap of the tion stating that Kelly's likeness is based on the Pentridge portrait. - HappyWaldo (talk) 01:54, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi HappyWaldo. How about this for a compromise? I can download the high quality tiff illustration montage and using photoshop, replace the illustration of Dan with Lonigan and crop it so that it shows only the four police. I will then remove the solo image of McIntyre. That way you are happy with the high quality illustrations, and I am happy that the policeman are respected. Deal? David.moreno72 02:43, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
I appreciate the suggestion, but I don't think historical source material should be edited like that for WP:SUBJECTIVE reasons. Not very encyclopaedic. We don't edit past artworks because they might offend modern PC attitudes (at least I hope we don't). The illustrated montage appeared in the Australasian Sketcher, a very popular publication at the time. The work would have been seen by many Australians and people abroad, and as far as I'm aware, no one else had an issue with it. I hope you can allow me this edit. - HappyWaldo (talk) 04:55, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi HappyWaldo. The changes I suggest do not fall under WP:SUBJECTIVE. If anything they fall under Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Images#Editing_images and the pertinent section is 'Images should not be changed in ways that materially mislead the viewer.' There is nothing misleading about my suggestion of moving around the portraits, which could also be achieved by cropping out each portrait and adding them individually. (Would you agree to that as a compromise?) I am suggesting compromises, but there is no suggestions of compromise from your end. Your position is stuck fast. So what compromise do you suggest? If there is no compromise that you find suitable then I would strongly suggest getting the community consensus by creating an AfC on the talk page. If we can't decide, then let the community decide. Please don't just ignore the processes set down by Wikipedia. Thank you David.moreno72 05:21, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
Your reason for photoshopping is based on your own personal morals, ie subjective. It's not to "improve the image's utility or quality" (how can you? It's a perfectly composed montage, readymade and good to go). I compromised by suggesting that we note in the caption the source of the Ned portrait (good idea). You argued in favour of the "policeman in armour" image by listing sites where it had been reproduced. I can find you numerous examples where the illustrated montage has been reproduced, and no one is objecting to it on the grounds that it is disrespectful. It's an unusual argument to make about people who have been dead for well over a century now, and again, the image was widely disseminated at the time. - HappyWaldo (talk) 05:50, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi HappyWaldo. As we are unable to reach a compromise, I have created an RfC to achieve consensus. Thank you David.moreno72 06:40, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi. Well done on uploading the high quality photos. If you can include an image of McIntyre (of similar quality) in the new montage, so there's two rows of two portraits, then I would be willing to compromise. - HappyWaldo (talk) 04:31, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi HappyWaldo. I have made the changes you requested. Glad we could reach a compromise. If you could mention the compromise in the RfC I will close it. Once closed you are more then welcome to make the changes to the article. Thank you David.moreno72 05:11, 22 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Ogakratos. Thank-you for your email, unfortunately you have asked me to review your article which leaves me in a conflict of interest. As per my edit notice I do not do reviews by request. I will give you some advice though. In order to pass WP:GNG there needs to be independent and secondary sources which currently is missing. Thank you. David.moreno72 14:26, 29 November 2017 (UTC)

Article Rejection

Hello Mr. Moreno. You recently rejected an article I submitted and then recommended it be deleted. I do understand that you think it is a hoax, as it does sound very far-fetched. However, the Laumersheim Hobo Giant is a fictional character that has been a part of my town's culture for generations. He occupies the position of a sort of Boogeyman or a benevolent spirit watching over the town. It is an important part of our culture, which made us want to add it to Wikipedia. Please allow this article to go through! Thank you!Heidelbergeditor (talk) 07:44, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Heidelbergeditor

Hi Heidelbergeditor. If you wish for an AFC article to be accepted, you must provide numerous sources that have significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary references. Thank you David.moreno72 08:10, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Thank you very much Mr. Moreno. However, I have a problem. There are no major mentions of him in any publications that I know of. The Hobo Giant is a fictional creature passed from mouth-to-mouth for generations. We are a very small town and we have no newspaper. If the Hobo Giant could be given an article, I'm sure that if the Hobo Giant were featured in an Wikipedia article, there would be other mentions in other media. Is there any other way I can get this through? Thanks!Heidelbergeditor (talk) 08:29, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Heidelbergeditor

Hi Heidelbergeditor. Basically, for an article to survive, it absolutely MUST satisfy WP:GNG. No ifs, no buts. It's Wikipedia policy. End of conversation. David.moreno72 10:20, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Thank you! So if I were to provide some sources that refer to the Laumersheim Hobo Giant, it would be possible for this article to go through? Thanks! Heidelbergeditor (talk) 12:42, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Heidelbergeditor

Sorry, I'm confused. Do you mean I need to add more detailed information about each item?

@87905403Li:. No. If you are confused may I suggest that you click on the links provided in the decline reply. Basically you need to provide references that are independent, that is, not associated with the subject, that contain significant coverage. Thank you David.moreno72 09:41, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

Got it √ Thanks for telling!

Johnny Gill - The Floor

I disagree that YouTube can't be a reference. We are aware that the song exists and YouTube is one of the many places to prove that it exists. Or are the heads lazy that they don't wanna come near that thing?

Hi @Edomrak52:. I'm sorry, but a link to the Youtube wikipedia article violates WP:NOTSOURCE. A link to the actual video would violate WP:YTREF, but most importantly it violates WP:V as it does not verify anything within the article apart from the actual existence of the song. If you wish for your article to be accepted, may I suggest that you take the time to read WP:REFB and WP:RS. If you disagree with Wikipedia policies you are more than welcome to suggest a change through a consensus seeking process such as a Request for Comment. Margo Haddad Page

Dear David

thank you for reviewing the page, I'm helping Ms. Margo to create her page over here, even though most of the resources are in arbaic, but i started adding reference as much as possible

we create the arabic page and it is accepted now.

one thing I want to achieve in creating the page in wiki is that i enhance the search schema in google, so that a real profile shows up in the left side of the page with her details, not as it is now (name, birthdate and pictures)

first of all, do you think these newly added references are useful? (english and arabic ones)

I need to add more to the page by the way, but I want to be sure if im in the right path or not

regards

Hey David, thanks for your message. I created the article about X-plosive because there already exists one in German ( https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=X-plosive&stable=0&shownotice=1). Is it possible to reference German sources for the verification of the article?

Thanks in advance Kaimaximilian (talk) 09:51, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Kaimaximilian. Yes, you are permitted to use German sources, as long as they are reliable. Given that the page is for the English Wikipedia it would also be very helpful to also provide English sources. Thank you David.moreno72 13:31, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi

My previous draft was rejected by you but I have tried and corrected the newer version drastically. Pls share your feedback and do not reject it outright now. Thanks Vandana.iitgn (talk) 12:08, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Vandana.iitgn. I have a strict policy to refrain from reviewing an editors AfC's once that editor has left a message on this talk page. The advice though that I will give you is to tone it down. The language used is very promotional and full of puffery. I also notice that many of your edits have been removed for copyright violations. That is not good. Persistent copyright violators can have their account blocked. I ran the page through Earwig's Copyvio Detector and it still comes up as 45.9%, so you need to review your edits again. Thank you. David.moreno72 13:43, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

Vandana.iitgn (talk) 11:53, 6 December 2017 (UTC) How can I bring this Earwig's Copyvio Detector percentage down? I tred adding several more references and citations, but instead ending up having increased percentage. pls help!

Hi Vandana.iitgn. I have removed the copyright violations and the unsourced material. Now all that is required from you is to provide at least 3 references that have significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Do not resubmit until that is done. Regards David.moreno72 12:15, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

05:48:18, 7 December 2017 review of submission by Br Miller

The sources used on the Battle For Dream Island Wikipedia article were self-publish which would usually make the sources considered unreliable, however the self-publish source was used as a source on themselves. On the Wikipedia:Verifiability page it states you can use self-published or questionable sources as sources on themselves so long as: the the material is neither unduly self-serving nor an exceptional claim; it does not involve claims about third parties; it does not involve claims about events not directly related to the source; there is no reasonable doubt as to its authenticity; and the article is not based primarily on such sources. There are no self-serving or exceptional claims within the Battle for Dream Island episodes as the show takes place within a fictional universe. There are no claims about third parties in the show. There are no claims within the show that are not related to the show itself. There is no doubt about the show's authenticity. The episodes are not based on any sources as what happens within show takes place within a fictional universe. Br Miller (talk) 05:48, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Br Miller

Hi Br Miller. Yes, but to establish notability per WP:GNG, which is a requirement for the submission to be accepted, requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published (not YouTube), reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. That is a seperate issue to reliability. Self published sources cannot be used to establish notability. Thank you David.moreno72 05:56, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi David.moreno72. You posted at User talk:John Abraham Awwab#Please stop that this editor has been blocked for previously trying to submit this autobio/slash draft, so I am wondering if you can specify what those accounts are. I was assuming good faith about the user page, but now it seems like something which should be tagged for speedy deletion per WP:U5 or WP:G4. Also, if this editor is evading, then perhaps an admin should be asked to step in. I would also like to know the other accounts because this editor uploaded the inofbox photo to Commons under a questionable license. Once again, I started a discussion about the file in an assumption of good faith, but if the same file has been previously deleted and the user just keeps re-uploading, then I will ask a Commons admin to take a closer look. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:03, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Marchjuly. The blocked accounts are User:Muhammad_Ibrahim_Afkar and User:Ibrahim Afkar. The latest account, User:John Abraham Awwab, has not yet been blocked but should be reported for block evasion and any pages created deleted per WP:G5. Regards David.moreno72 03:21, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

Request on 04:57:47, 8 December 2017 for assistance on AfC submission by RexxiA

Hello, you recently declined my article on a scientist named Cassandra Extavour. I read the message you left and have questions. It seems like the issue was of "notability," but as stated in article her research discovered that evolution can occur in human in cells before gametes are even formed. This is was a key discovery to understanding evolution and how epigenetics occurs. So I think her work is definitely "notable." Another one of the reasons cited was sourcing. I cited a biography on her done by Harvard University, Crimson magazine, and a Sematic Scholar article-- which are all reliable secondary sources. I'm having trouble understanding why she is not "notable" and why the sources are not "fit" for wikipedia. Any explanation or help would be appreciated. Thank you. RexxiA

RexxiA (talk) 04:57, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi RexxiA. The claim of notability of 'evolution can occur in human in cells before gametes are even formed' is one that would need secondary and independent references to establish. From my reading it was in fruit flies, not humans. The cited biography in 'Sematic Scholar' is a start, but is not considered independent. You will need to provide at least 3 secondary and independent references that have significant coverage to establish notability. Thank you David.moreno72 05:07, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

Okay, I will work on that. However, the Crimson Magazine is a secondary source that interviewed her about her research. I believe this source should be allowed to stay. RexxiA —Preceding undated comment added 05:12, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I hope you will approve now my article. You taught that my references are not reliable, but they are. The link to the article that you reviewed (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Saint_Joanikije_Devički). The firs reference redirects the reader to the Wikipedia article written in Serbian language that I have correctly translated in English. Which is probably the best source out here and should not make any troubles as it is already approved. The second reference is from the book not from some blogger on anything not reliable. Even if the site is quite old the source is totally correct if someone know Serbian language can approve it. Hope that now all will be correct and you will approve my article. Thanks forwardly ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Semantron (talkcontribs) 11:03, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Semantron. I'm sorry, but Wikipedia cannot be used as a reference per WP:WINARS. Also, the other reference does not verify anything in the article, so its reliability is irrelevant. Your newly added reference is a start, but there needs to be at least 3, so you will need to find more. Thank you David.moreno72 12:26, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

Why the article I’m submitting keep getting declined. Can you tell me explain what I’m doing wrong and need to correct Keitaviouswalter (talk) 11:57, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Keitaviouswalter. Apart from being an autobiography, which is frowned upon (this was in the first note but you chose to ignore it), you don't satisfy WP:NCOLLATH. If you wish to correct it you need to break the records in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Men%27s_Division_I_Outdoor_Track_and_Field_Championships#Championships_records . So your 200 metres time was 20.43, but the record is 19.87. For 100 metres your time was 9.98, but the record is 9.82. For the 4 × 100 metres relay the time was 38.91 but the record is 38.04. Draft: Issues in African American Music

Draft:Issues in African American music : power, gender, race, representation (book) I made an error. I inadvertantly submitted our article for review. It was unintentional. My WikiEDU course is constructing the article through the last day of our classes. The book/subject is notable as the text we are summarizing is written by leading scholars in the field recently published this year. I am also an ethnomusicologist. sheridanford (talk) 23:40, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi sheridanford. For the article to be accepted it has to satisfy one of the criteria in WP:NBOOK. The criteria then needs to be able to be verified with reliable sources. Thank you David.moreno72 00:27, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
Hi David.moreno72. The book meets the qualifications. Thanks! Will insure this is clear. sheridanford (talk) 03:03, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
Hello again David.moreno72: One of my students who is not complying with instructions is clicking the resubmit button for the article. They are done editing tomorrow. This was a failed attempt with a group of students who have not been complying on a number of levels. This article will not likely be published. I'll likely put it in a Wiki elsewhere and finish it with another group. New university and the writing fitness is much weaker than I anticipated. Better luck next time. Thanks for your assistance! sheridanford (talk) 22:55, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

My article again refused even if in those books that you told are not reliable are correct and I added two more references with reliable source which you didn't mentioned. Please approve it, it is reliable.

The article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Saint_Joanikije_Devi%C4%8Dki), you told that article do not have reliable sources connected in references. It's not true there is even further reading which you haven't mentioned anywhere which was added by experienced Wikipedia contributor. He said that reference is now totally reliable and ready to be published. Everything that is written in the books and on those two sites in Serbian even there are in English and French language is in the article all content. So there is nothing that is not already from that source. Please you haven't researched correctly references the article is ready to be published. Thanks forwardly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Semantron (talkcontribs) 11:39, 11 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Semantron. I'm sorry, but you have not followed the advice given to you. First I told you that Wikipedia could not be a reference but you then argued, saying '

You taught that my references are not reliable, but they are'.

What I told you was then confirmed at the AfC helpdesk where they said

'The Serbian Wikipedia article must be removed from the references section because Wikipedia, being user-generated, is not a reliable'

and at the Teahouse

'Wikis - including Wikipedia - are not regarded as reliable sources. So your reference to srwiki is not acceptable;'

It was a good start that you removed it, but you have ignored the other advice. For instance you were asked to

'In order to establish Notability, could you be a bit more clearer about Joanikije's current legacy. You said the relics are at the monastety and Christians believe they are miraculous. Which book, news story, article, etc exactly says this about the beliefs of current christians?'

You have not done so. You were told

'What we require for a Wikipedia article in English Wikipedia (it may be different in other Wikipedias) is references published in reputable places (such as books from major publishers) that give in-depth information about the subject.'

You have not done so. This is where you have gone wrong. An experienced editor has

'I've added a reliable scholarly source to a "Further reading" section, you may be able to use it as a reference. Other potential sources are [1], [2], [3], and [4]. If you rewrite the draft using these sources, it is likely to be accepted.'

But you have failed to rewrite the draft using the sources. They went further and said

'It would be helpful if you used inline citations to show which source(s) each statement in the draft comes from.'

You have failed to add any inline citations.

When you actually do as you have been instructed the article will be more likely to be accepted. The most important of these is to provide inline citations. As part of using inline citations is that what is being claimed in actually in the citation. That is absolutely critical and the article will not be accepted until that is done. Thank you David.moreno72 12:18, 11 December 2017 (UTC)

Semantron (talk) 12:55, 11 December 2017 (UTC)Thank you for reviewing again this article, I am a bit stubborn but I really want to make this article active because it is correct and should be a part of Wikipedia. I have added inline citation about miraculous relics and other things that you asked. Everything that is written there in Serbian is on English to in the article, I managed to find it somehow after hard research. I resubmitted again and now I really hope that it will be published. Thanks again.

Rod Pack Refusal

Hi Mr. Moreno,

I am new to this and will need some help. Rod Pack was documented by TIME magazine as the first ever to jump from an airplane without a parachute. This is pretty incredible. I stumbled upon his accomplishment inadvertently and am very surprised that there is no mention of his name through common searches. Speaking with those who knew him apprised me of his roles in creating TV series entitled "The Bold Men" with the director of William Friedkin who directed the French Connection and the Exorcist. Furthermore, The Bold Men premier poster which is findable online illustrates Mr. Pack's feat.

If it's "notable enough" for Wikipedia, please aid me or refer his accomplishments to those that have more experience and skill creating these pages.

Thanks, Jayson Jfgottman (talk) 01:24, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Jfgottman. The article needs to be sourced with reliable sources per WP:RS and at least 3 of them to satisfy WP:GNG. Thank you David.moreno72 01:54, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello David.moreno72, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 12713 pages. Please consider reviewing even just a few pages each day! If everyone helps out, it will really put a dent in the backlog.
  • Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!

Outreach and Invitations:

  • If you know other editors with a good understanding of Wikipedia policy, invite them to join NPP by dropping the invitation template on their talk page with: {{subst:NPR invite}}. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.

  • Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed.
