Non-free image use[edit]

Hi Davekern. The reason some of the entries in Passports of the European Union were marked with "Link to image" was because the relevant files are licensed as non-free content and their use in the article doesn't comply with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. Non-free files such as this are generally OK to be used for primary identification purposes in a stand-alone article about primary subject matter (e.g., an article about the individual passport/idenity card they represent), but they are pretty much never allowed to be used per WP:NFCC#1, WP:NFCC#3, WP:NFCC#8, WP:NFTABLES, WP:NFLISTS, item 6 of WP:NFC#UUI, etc. in more general articles such as the list of passports article. They can be linked to if desired, but not displayed. Image use on Wikipedia can be tricky because not every file you has the same type of copyright license; so, if you come across any more "link to image" types of entries in list articles like this, check the page's history to see if there's an edit sum explaining why the links were added or the relevant files were removed. I'm posting this here just to let you know because another editor JJMC89 has removed the files. You can re-add the link syntax if you want, but you shouldn't re-add the images themselves. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:49, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Embassy of Poland, Dublin moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Embassy of Poland, Dublin, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Hôtel de Vatry[edit]

Hello, Davekern. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Hôtel de Vatry".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 07:13, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
