Hi Dan,

Thanks for your suggestion. I don't mind particularly - I don't think the current format looks bad actually. The table would also be fine, except it doesn't contain a space for the reason a by-election was called for example or any other info that might be relevant (and indeed vast) for that election. --Manxy3 17:07, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good point - I hadn't taken that into account. Perhaps a 'Notes' column? I'm happy to leave them as they are for now though, but it's worth thinking about for the future, as the amount of election information grows for each place. --dankarran 18:19, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Channel Islands/Isle of Man geography stubs[edit]

Hi Dankarran - just a quick note to you and the other editors I know of in either IoM or the CIs that the old {{UK-crown-geo-stub}} and Category:Crown Dependency geography stubs has been split into separate stubs for the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. Not sure if you ever used the old template and category, but if you did, the stubs are now marked with {{ChannelIslands-geo-stub}} or {{IsleofMan-geo-stub}} and categorised in Category:Channel Islands geography stubs and Category:Isle of Man geography stubs. Grutness...wha? 08:40, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the note... will be sure to make use of them in the future --dankarran 20:30, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stuttgart[edit]

Hi, saw you on the "Wikipedians in Stuttgart" page, thought I'd say hi! How are you finding life in Stuttgart? Greetings Niall --Nfmccourt 09:57, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I like it here, it's nice. A great experience, and I'm even picking up some German as I go along. Not quite up to the level of translating articles though! I visited Ludwigsburg a month or so back and had a wander around the schloss there. --dankarran 11:07, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Isle of Man articles missing coordinates[edit]

I believe that you may be interested in articles about places on the Isle of Man, so I hope the following might be useful. I've added a new hidden category, Category:Isle of Man articles missing geocoordinate data, which lists articles which need to be geocoded: see WP:GEOCODE for more information on how to add these coordinates. Articles can be added to this category using the template tag {{coord missing|Isle of Man}}; when you have geocoded an article, you should then remove the tag. -- The Anome (talk) 09:15, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

London Wikimedia Fundraiser[edit]

Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.

Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 22:15, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:21, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
