Hi, perhaps you would revisit this please? The accepted practice is to merge nn elementary/middle schools into the district (US/Canada) or locality (UK/Australia) which preserves some content in a location where it can be found. James English School

I think the school page article already makes it clear that school articles which don't establish notability should normally be merged into the appropriate locality article. It only seems to be America and Canada which have school districts and there seem to be a lot of school district articles which is why it's preferable to merge American and Canadian schools with the school district. Sorry for the delay but contrary to my own principles I foolishly allowed real life to intrude into my Wikipedia editing :-) I fully agree with your tags. Not only that but I would also have taken out a big pair of scissors since this is one terrible article full of POV. BTW, I have created two new categories; a parent cat Category:Montessori education and a child cat Category:Montessori education. WP:Article Size

After the Afd WP:Articles for deletion/UEFA Cup 2006-07 knockout stage where I suggested a Merge to the parent article, I have been trying to understand how particular articles can be organized or split up simply due to length. I also suggested a sub-page, which seemed technically feasible, but doesn't often extend to the main area(?).

I came across and have been reading on DGG's page the Librarian's Guide to the Way Wikipedia Works, particularly the Organization section, as well as other WP articles like Categorization and Classification. I understand that these are more about categories instead of individual articles, and that was probably the source of my confusion, but I would like to better understand how articles should work.

On further digging, I found the WP:Article Size guideline which nicely sums up the issues and answers my questions about article length. --Daddy.twins (talk) 23:36, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

No problem, it's displaying now. The syntax for the template is a lot to remember. I always open up Template:VG Reviews in another tab/window when adding the template because it displays all the necessary syntax needed. I noticed you are now an established user and aiming to be an admin one day, but you do not currently have access to the rollback feature on Wikipedia. This is a "no big deal" thing which allows you to revert vandalism like edits and your own edits quickly if you see the need, and it can be given to any trusted user even if they do not frequently use it. Got it. I was recently granted rollback privs. This edit was the first time I saw the rollback feature on a history page, and I must have clicked on it out of curiousity. I understand now that it reverted all my sequential changes back to the last change made by a user other than myself. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way (or knuckleheaded way). I sorta guessed it was that, seeing the comment two above. And yes, rollback can get you into a twist with your own edits, or those of others, especially if you are doing a batch rollback of a bunch of articles, and one has a "substantive" edit before the error you're trying to fix.
