MaSu[edit]

I would have gotten back to you sooner, but I was at TAFE, and they use the same pool of IP addresses as NSW Schools, which have been permanently banned from editing due to the actions of stupid kids. Anyway, while I realise that MaSu want their music downloaded as much as possible, if one is going to download their music, they might as well go to their site.--DooMDrat 09:13, August 11, 2005 (UTC)

I know what you mean, but it's generally appreciated at Wikipedia that you link to everything of importance, which is why I had linked to individual song files. Some of the songs have slight descreptions (Like with Hybrid containing a piece from The Matrix), and such description might interest people there on the spot, and it'd be much easier for a direct download than sorting through MaSu's links.
And that sucks about your IP issues. My old high school was banned from editing, as well, because some dumbass decided to replace one of the featured articles with a collection of penises. =\ -D14BL0 00:52, 12 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Nu Metal[edit]

What i reverted was an unexplained removal of most of the articles text. Im simply not very good at reverting. Removing text for no reason other than to disrupt Wikipedia is vandalism. Leyasu 01:34, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Machinae Supremacy logo.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. — THOR =/\= 04:27, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Machinae Supremacy logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Machinae Supremacy logo.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. — THOR =/\= 04:27, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Machinae Supremacy image[edit]

Thanks for letting me know of my error in uploading the Machinae Supremacy logo, though I'm not sure how to fix the copyright information. Could you perhaps give me more information on how to edit this? Or would it be simpler to re-upload the image with proper copyright information? -D14BL0 06:09, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to an image description (which you have on the image) there are two important things that really must be included on every image.
  • A source: being where you originally got the image. This could be a website, a scan you made, or any number of other places. You just need to tell where you got it from.
  • A license: being what permission Wikipedia has to use the image. If the image is something you took/made yourself, you may decide how to license it. However, if you got it from somewhere else, you need to know what copyright tag goes with it and apply it to the page. Wikipedia might not even have the right to use it, and we'd need to tag it appropriately. Just look through the Wikipedia image copyright tags and look for one that applies to this image in paticular. — THOR =/\= 08:22, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

O RLY?[edit]

The death thing is a hoax. If you go through the history there was at one time a section on the thing with the fake email and the attempt to contact the address in the email, which bounced. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 08:41, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help![edit]

Hey, DI4BLO, somebody has been messing with the RE4 creatures article by deleting perfectly fine images of the Zealots, Garrador, Novistador, Iron Maiden, and El Gigante. I would fix this back the way it was, but I don't know how. Could you help? I saw you on the discussion page and decided you would be the best person to deal with this. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Machinae Supremacy logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Machinae Supremacy logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
