December 2011[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Yadav. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Sitush (talk) 09:41, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yadav[edit]

I just wanted to let you know that it is totally fine to pursue dispute resolution on the issue of concern at [[Yadav] and its talk page. However, please be sure not to revert on the article any more, as that would probably result in you crossing WP:3RR and thus being blocked. Additionally, please don't call people's edits "vandalism" unless the meet the very narrow definition found at WP:VANDAL. Using that term inappropriately can be considered a personal attack. Note that WP:VANDAL explicitly says that content disputes, disagreements about WP:NPOV, or style issues do not fall under the category of vandalism. Thanks. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule at Yadav. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:24, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • You were explicitly warned, both here and at Talk:Yadav, of what would happen if you continued edit-warring - yet you carried on anyway. Also, in a content dispute, you should not accuse those who disagree with you of vandalism - a content dispute is explicitly *not* vandalism. If there is a disputed change that you wish to make, you need to discuss it on the Talk page and wait for a consensus to emerge - then only if the consensus supports you can you make the change. If you resume edit-warring when your block expires, you should expect to be blocked for longer.
