Smile emoji Hi CopenhagenScholar! Thank you for your edits to Ancient history of Afghanistan. It looks like you've copied or moved text from Bactria–Margiana Archaeological Complex into that page, and while you are welcome to re-use the content, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. If you've copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thanks! DanCherek (talk) 23:16, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, @DanCherek. That is indeed what I did in the section about the Oxus Civilization (BMAC). In the future, I will make sure to disclose the copying and link to the copied page in the format you've provided. I greatly appreciate your feedback. When remarking in the edit summary that I copied the paragraph, can I remove the "citation needed" that has been added to the paragraph? I've become uncertain if I can use the same citation as the original. Naturally, I intend to give credit to the original article that I've copied from. Information icon Hello, I'm HistoryofIran. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Nasr ibn Sayyar, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. HistoryofIran (talk) 01:28, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I just double-checked Tabari's work and it is true that nothing on Nasr ibn Sayyar's ethnicity is mentioned. I was reading volume 25 page 188. It was a misinterpretation. CopenhagenScholar (talk) 02:03, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Balkh, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. HistoryofIran (talk) 16:18, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tabari is considered THE authoritative source on the matter. As for the guidelines, I will make sure to look at them and try again when I get the time. Thank you. CopenhagenScholar (talk) 00:27, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
