File source problem with File:Alert Ready Logo.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Alert Ready Logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Lessons[edit]

@CoolCanuck: I am sad to say this, but we will be putting a hold on our lessons until I have more open time. Sorry for the just recent closure. Feel free to still ask me questions though (: FiendYT 03:32, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

May 2016[edit]

Hello, I'm Wikipelli. I noticed that you recently removed some content from User talk:69.208.158.62  with this edit, without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Wikipelli Talk 22:01, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As per my edit summary, the information on the user page was expired. Permission was given via IRC. CoolCanuck eh? 22:02, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of your own uploaded images[edit]

If you uploaded an image and are the only editor to make substantial edits to it and want it deleted, you can ask for a speedy deletion under WP:SPEEDY#G7 by placing this template {{Db-g7}} on it. If it is verified it can be deleted immediately upon review while the orphaned fair use template takes seven days. Aspects (talk) 05:07, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

LOL. Thank you!! I knew there was a faster way xD --CoolCanuck eh? 05:34, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Video Game Sources[edit]

Hey! Eurogamer is a reliable source for video game information, you can find it (and other reliable sources) here. I thought I would let you know for future reference. Rgoodermote (talk) 10:44, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. However, that doesn't mean their information is correct. In this case, it isn't. --CoolCanuck eh? 16:41, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Updates are made accordingly, but it doesn't stop a source from being valid and make them a "fan blog". They made a mistake, we used it as our source and when they corrected the mistake, we corrected it too. Thank you for understanding. Rgoodermote (talk) 23:09, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Rgoodermote: "'We" corrected it? I removed it after 3 semi-protected edit requests were on the talk page. One was even denied. Completely unacceptable, as it was completely clear in black and white that it was not released in Japan. No one bothered to do research since "eurogamer is a reliable source". It was one of the few sites reporting it was available. Anyone with basic tech skills could see that wasn't the case. But sure, keep to your "eurogamer is reliable". Wikipedia editing is not just relying facts. They need to be looked into -OR- not included in the article. Consider this a lesson :). Thanks for your understanding in this simple issue. Yours, --CoolCanuck eh? 23:42, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NOR, the facts are facts until they aren't facts. Corrections were made. In the future please make sure to not remove reliable sources, instead provide another reliable source to back your addition or removal. Thank you for understanding. Rgoodermote (talk) 01:26, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New 10,000 Challenge for Canada[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good afternoon! I work for Rogers, and am trying to get this page updated: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Rogers_logo.svg When you Google "Rogers", it grabs that logo instead of our current logo. I see in the edits on that page, it says that you uploaded the correct logo, but it appears it was reverted back to the old one. Just curious if you're able to update this, or if you know how to get it updated? Any help or guidance you could provide would be appreciated! RogersMichaelT (talk) 16:22, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Michael. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It seems a bot on wikimedia commons malfunctioned and reverted to a previous version. I have reverted to the proper version. Google should update the logo soon. Probably less than 7 days. While this is not something Wikipedia covers, I have knowledge that could be helpful in managing Rogers' online presence in Google knowledge panel. You can verify on Google (via Twitter or Google Search Console. The marketing department may be able to help you with this) at https://posts.google.com/claim/verify?mid=%2Fm%2F020nwq . For the "Rogers Wireless" result on Google, you will need to contact the website https://www.101domain.com/rogers.htm and ask them to update their logo. Thanks! --CoolCanuck eh? 21:25, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's incredible, thank you so much for your assistance!! We've been trying to figure this out for a while now - so appreciative for your help and the additional information. I'll reach out to 101domain for the wireless one too. Thanks again, and have a wonderful day! RogersMichaelT (talk) 14:48, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
