Hi hurricanehink. Thanks for taking time to let me know your response. Valued. I have only logged in as an editor today, in view of my attempt to correct a piece of vandalism. Appreciate the thought of assisting as an editor. Not sure I am in a position to commit the time at the moment. However, if time demands change, I can reconsider. I have done some editing on some other issues, and for now that is about the limit of what I can do.

I don't think you meant to do what you did, but got confused. Queen of Awesome reverted 67.184.217.202's vandalism adding penis to the article. By reverting her you changed it back to the vandalized version.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 00:49, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Just to confirm my motivations. My aim was to remove the word "penis" having checked that it was not appropriate. (Fairly self evident but checked anyway.)

Yes, possibly I reverted someone elses correction of the vandalized version. However, not entirely sure that that is what happened. So I will explain.

The word "penis" was there when I first read the daily Wikipedia main page.

Rather odd as I did not notice it on the first reading, and that is something I would think I would notice. So I observed the word at the end of reading the article. (I live in the area where such birds occur, so personal interest and a nice article.

When I noticed the word penis just before moving on, I thought, being a main page article, best log in and have a look. I logged in, confirm the change was from the last edit. I then pressed what I thought would return the page to the previous version removing the single word of vandalism. I then checked the article page again to confirm the change had taken place as I understood. To my surprise, I found "penis" still there????? I then deleted Firefox cache, and reloaded the article page, and it was restored. No "penis". So I figured I had achieved my goal and the problem was Firefox reloading from cache. So at this point I was satisfied I had achieved my goal correctly. However, perhaps another editor was making changes over this same time, confusing the sequence of events in parallel.

To confirm, I am an ocassional editor, and what happened my end was confusing.
