Question from Shadowstorm828 (03:55, 13 April 2024)[edit]

Hi, I'm trying to update a page and the only edit option that I have is to edit the source code of the page. Is there anyway to directly edit the page itself? --Shadowstorm828 (talk) 03:55, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Shadowstorm828! If you mean edit the page visually, you might be interested in trying out VisualEditor. More information on VE is available on the linked page. Let me know if you have any more questions. Chlod (top • contribs) 03:58, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from ThedudeLex (19:26, 20 April 2024)[edit]

How do I create a page for an athlete with their respective information? Do I just create an article and once it is reviewed they put the information in the correct areas? Thanks for tour help --ThedudeLex (talk) 19:26, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @ThedudeLex, and welcome to Wikipedia! When creating articles, you have to add in the information yourself before sending it off for review. I suggest reading Help:Your first article, the notability guideline in sports (which dictates who are eligible to have articles written about them), and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons (which is a general guideline on biographies). All of these pages have relevant information about writing articles for athletes. If you have any questions, feel free to reply! I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. Question from Mizokuhle on User talk:41.114.142.88 (16:57, 25 April 2024)[edit]

Hello --Mizokuhle (talk) 16:57, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Mizokuhle! Anything I can help you with? Please also note that talk pages work a lot more like emails than instant messaging apps like Telegram or WhatsApp; responses are usually slow, and you're encouraged to be patient before sending another message. Template editor granted[edit]

Your account has been granted the "templateeditor" user permission, allowing you to edit templates and modules that have been protected with template protection. It also allows you to bypass the title blacklist, giving you the ability to create and edit editnotices. Before you use this user right, please read Wikipedia:Template editor and make sure you understand its contents. In particular, you should read the section on wise template editing and the criteria for revocation.

You can use this user right to perform maintenance, answer edit requests, and make any other simple and generally uncontroversial edits to templates, modules, and edinotices. You can also use it to enact more complex or controversial edits, after those edits are first made to a test sandbox, and their technical reliability as well as their consensus among other informed editors has been established. If you are willing to process edit requests on templates and modules, keep in mind that you are taking responsibility to ensure the edits have consensus and are technically sound.

This user right gives you access to some of Wikipedia's most important templates and modules; it is critical that you edit them wisely and that you only make edits that are backed up by consensus. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

If you were granted the permission on a temporary basis you will need to re-apply for the permission a few days before it expires including in your request a permalink to the discussion where it was granted and a {{ping}} for the administrator who granted the permission. You can find the permalink in your rights log.
