Hi, Can you copyedit the article when you have time? Thanks,--Ugur Olgun 17:19, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Re: Eksisozluk

The first version did not assert the notability of the article, so I expressed some concerns regarding it, to guide editors on what needed attention. Thanks for the Turkish translation though, I failed at finding a Turkish-English translator ;). It was not a deletion tagging or something like that, just guidance. If you feel the notability is now asserted, you are welcome to remove the tags :). -- lucasbfr talk 12:56, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Yeah there's something weird going on. I found a redirect page that was deleted under G4 (which means this article was deleted at some point). But I can't find anything in the deletion log and google doesn't help (it was probably under a different spelling). Really weird... -- lucasbfr talk 13:36, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi Deniz! I see you've revived the Ekşi Sözlük article. You might want to check the following two links to get an idea of what happened to the article before: [1], Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ekşi Sözlük. Regards, Atilim Gunes Baydin 13:38, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Dunno how I missed it. The problem is that the article could now be speedy deleted from Wikipedia since it is the re creation of a deleted article. I suggest you to open a case at WP:DRV to seek a deletion review. -- lucasbfr talk 13:42, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: Eksisozluk

Sure thing :). What I propose in the meantime is to userfy the article (i.e. to move it from the article space to your user space for example User:Denizz/Ekşi Sözlük) to prevent it from being deleted while you try to find some good references. I'll try to poke around on what to do to review the deletion (which should be no problem if the reference concerns are answered). I'm used to do deletion review on articles that are still deleted ;) -- lucasbfr talk 14:09, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

vacation

I am going on vacation, I don't know now how often I will edit Wikipedia during vacation. Anyway, see you guys/gals. Also sorry for Eksisozluk, I won't be improving it much, I hope someone else (an Eksisozluk member maybe?) picks it up. DenizTC 23:06, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Izmir

I know these images in the article are not postcards but don't you think it would be more appropriate to have images without a frame? I'm sure there's plenty of them. --Tone 20:37, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Johnyajohn

I recall that he was pushing some POV on Antonia Bennett several months ago, but I haven't been tracking recent edits... Are you on IMs? We could talk more about it there. --Elonka 03:47, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: ASALA

"it was this way before discussions and the sources don't say that they have not been in the lists since 1991"

The sources are given in the sentence. If you navigate to the cited pages, then you'll see that the ASALA is not listed in any of those pages. Cheers. Serouj 04:40, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Cyprus

Please look at the edit history, look at the talk page. This current version was not created without a good deal of work and compromise. Please work with other editors, don't simply wade in.. Vizjim 16:35, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Image:Ostad Elahi 1.jpg

You're right, the three images of Ostad Elahi were oddly tagged. In this particular case, I think we might assume that {{PD-Iran}} applies, since he was a publicly known figure. If this doesn't seem correct to you, please drop me a note and I'll have somebody take a second look. Valentinian T / C 08:27, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I hadn't noticed that intricacy. My guess would be that Iranian law prevails. In U.S. law, the scanning process doesn't give an additional copyright. I've asked a U.S. editor to take a look. If I remember correctly, he knows more about images than me. Regards. Valentinian T / C 22:22, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Turkish diaspora

Hi Deniz, I was wondering if you could spare some time and have a look at the "discussion" I'm having with a newcomer on Talk:Turkish diaspora. It seems impossible to talk with the user, he doesn't seem to read / understand what I'm saying and I really don't know how to handle this. Atilim Gunes Baydin 21:24, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I am not a newcomer. I just want the right numbers and a good standard on that article. I am thinking the same thing for you, you are far away from understanding what I say. Do not degrade the article and/or users here.. --Fearlessdog 11:26, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Ararat arev

Well, it's sure always nice to see him around. I'll let a checkuser know, thanks for the heads up. Seraphimblade Talk to me 00:43, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Copyright question

Tell the person that, if they really intend to release the material under a free license, they need to send an email to OTRS confirming this from their organization's official email address. Until such time, revert any copyrighted material added, we just can't accept that until we have that confirmation. OTRS will leave a note on the article's talk if and when they receive a confirmation. Reverting copyrighted material is not edit warring, and you will most certainly not get in any trouble for it. Wikiproject Turkey @ Istanbul summit

Hi, I'm sorry that I removed the template on the 2004 Istanbul Summit some time ago. I just feared that too many WikiProject templates would be added: international relations, Turkey, International organizations, Military History, etc. (I'm sure I can think of more.) Therefore I thought that only one WikiProject template, the most appropriate would be the best. I don't object to the Turkey template though.Sijo Ripa 14:15, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Greek War of Independence

Please use the talk page so we can discuss further edits! AlexiusComnenus 23:36, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Your correction of typos was great work, but I did not appreciate your deleting of the stub I created today, and which I plan to fill in when I have the time. It is not a big problem though, I recreated it. Please refrain from deleting it again.

Also, the massacres section is quite delicate-- let us discuss this before any changes are made. More specifically, do you have any problems with the current version that I put up? AlexiusComnenus 23:44, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Kaymakli

I finally tended to the article. I think we are ok now. Hetoum I 02:35, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for making Kaymak connection clearer. I am divided on taking out subheadings of the buildings. Each of the chapels and church had a name as St. Astvadzatsin, St. Stepanos and etc. so more can be written about them, but I dont have those references on hand. So, I'm gonna leave it as is. If more comes up, I can expand. Hetoum I 21:25, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

It is perfectly alright to disagree with formulations or whole entries, but what about providing some details on why you put the template on top of İnsan Hakları Derneği which has a discussion page.--Sc.helm 17:29, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Dear Deniz, There is ongoing dispute on article. User:Cool Cat reported it at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Diyarbak.C4.B1r_-_Capital_of_Kurdistan. Denizz, Can you help in Nazim_Hikmet#Plea to make correct(as possible as) translation;

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Eskisehir Turkey Provinces locator.jpg, by Strangerer, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Eskisehir Turkey Provinces locator.jpg is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Eskisehir Turkey Provinces locator.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Eskisehir Turkey Provinces locator.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 22:56, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello Deniz,

I dont know if you know but I nominated this article for GA and it has been reviewed today. I think I have met most of the reviewers suggestions but I am leaving the country for a while tommorow and I wanted to ask if you could help with any futher requests made in my absence? Thanks, --A.Garnet 21:48, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

user Gon4z

Hi, I just want to let you know, that there has been trouble with user:Gon4z all over wikipedia for nationalistic editing- he usually pushes all numbers regarding Albania up and tries all the time to reduce the strength and power of Serbia and Greece. He showed a really nasty behaviour (insults, 3rr, edit war, unsourced material, user page vandalism, lies, and so on) at the Albanian Military articles ( i.e. Albanian Land Forces Command). Here you can see his talkpage before he blanked it: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Gon4z&oldid=128556210#Incorrect_Info.2F3RR_warning He got banned three times in a week for his actions and insults, but hasn’t learned his lesson, as his rude behaviour at the article “Serbian Air Force” and his increasing of all Muslim and Albanian numbers in all kind of articles of the Balkans show. If he insists to edit war with you or insults you let me know and I will dig up the endless complaints about him in the administrator’s board to help you in case you wish to report him on the "Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents". Best Regards noclador 01:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

I reported Gon4z today to administrator Prodego as he had to deal with Gon4z more than once too. As Gon4z is currently editing unsourced material into articles and accuses anyone that does not agree of “vandalism” or “racism” I think a longer ban is required. You can find my report about Gon4z (and a list of “deeds”) to administrator Prodego here. If you have any negative experiences with Gon4z or an opinion to add I would welcome your contributions. Thanks and best regards noclador 01:31, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Your question

Hi, Denizz. Regarding your question here: I wouldn't really know. It could have been, but, if it was, I started it without knowledge of that. Is there a record kept of these things? If so, it would be interesting to know why it was deleted. Dahn 07:16, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you. This means a lot, since you are much more knowledgeable of issues relating to Ottoman history than I could ever be. Dahn 18:55, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Dear Denizz, is it possible to check and make corrections on the Sunay Akın page. Regards.Must.T C 09:19, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Anti-Turkism

Need your help with this page. I would like to add more information on anti-Turkism in Iran, which is a pretty broad but very relevant topic, which has important historical roots in the Epic of Shahnameh and the historical Iran-Turan conflict. Will wait for your comments and/or feel free to write me on the topic. Thanks. Atabek 01:24, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Military duty

I am going to be away in July for my 21-day military duty (in Burdur or wherever they sent me from there (possibly Antalya)). I might be able to edit during 'çarşı izin's on the two weekends. DenizTC 12:52, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Tanbur (Persian)

Greetings, you were involved in a discussion concerning the content of Tanbur (Persian). I plan to replace that article with the rewritten text at Tanbur/Temp, and then move Tanbur (Persian) to Tembûr (more details at Talk:Tanbur (Persian)#Improvement, nomenclature etc.). I would appreciate any constructive criticism or additional assistance you are willing to offer. I completely understand if you are already wearied by the entire matter. (You may have already left by the time that I write this. Just thought you may be interested. Good luck while you're away, be safe!) -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:01, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
