Orphaned non-free image File:Esigodini.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Esigodini.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 06:22, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Restored - thanks for the note on the page vandalism. Skier Dude (talk) 02:29, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

when?

When are you going to take University of Zimbabwe to FA? Part (talk) 02:30, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

GZ Archives

On the "Great Zimbabwe" Talk-Page there seems to be a link to two Archives - one for 2010 and another for earlier years. However, when I try and open them, it says that those files "do not exist". Have they been preserved elsewhere? --DLMcN (talk) 17:42, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Vandalism by GamesJoseph46

I reverted the last edit in "Great Zimbabwe" by GamesJoseph46 - and have placed a reprimand in his personal Talk-File. I leave it to you (or somebody?) to decide whether further action is necessary. His "nonsense" edit was actually sitting there three days; [sometimes one of the "-Bot"s will pick up edits of that nature? - but not this time, for some reason]--DLMcN (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 06:43, 10 July 2011 (UTC).

Thanks Dave. I have added a template warning but your actions were basically what is required - this is his first edit so no serious sanction is normally taken.Babakathy (talk) 07:35, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

GZim discussions before 2011

Babakathy - Following my query at the beginning of last month, another reader ("IrishStephen") has recently asked what has happened to the old discussion archives on Great Zimbabwe [see its current Talk-Page]. When we try and access them, we are told that they "do not exist". Regards, David McN. --DLMcN (talk) 19:49, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Fixed. Babakathy (talk) 06:41, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Volcanoes of Zimbabwe

I have restored Murowa diamond mine to Category:Volcanoes of Zimbabwe, and addressed the deletion vote. I have also brought it to the attention of Wikipedia:WikiProject Volcanoes. You are correct that Murowa is a kimberlite pipe. But all kimberlite pipes are diatremes, and all diatremes are volcanic landforms. As long as a pipe remains, it is still a volcano, even if it has been extinct for billions of years. If the category is deleted, it will be restored, per basic volcanology discipline. - Gilgamesh (talk) 16:20, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Babakathy3.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
