[edit]

this site seems like some spammer trying to advertise some of his crap product. should be deleted IMO or possibly re-written in a non-advert way and created as a wiki article 24.129.235.8 (talk) 00:42, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

oops, sorry. I used my user page as a sandbox for the OpenCOBOL page. While I'll disagree with the subject matter being some crap product  :) it's open source, very complete system for anyone to gain COBOL experience with. It's not really my product, I'm just an advocate of COBOL programming. I will agree my page may look like spam. I didn't mean to leave the sandboxing up for so long. Removing now. Falcon hatnote[edit]

Hello there. Please note for the future that per WP:NAMB, disambiguatory hatnotes (e.g. {{otheruses}}) should not generally be used on articles (e.g. Falcon (programming language)) with a disambiguator in their page title (i.e. "(programming language)"). This is because anyone who intended another use of the term would not have included the disambiguator part of the page title in their search and thus would usually be taken to a disambiguation page and not a page for any of the specific uses. --Cybercobra (talk) 04:57, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited COBOL, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page JCL. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
