Nameless ions[edit]

Hi ATR. I noticed you added sentences to oxygen difluoride and dioxygen difluoride that state that the ions of oxygen with oxidation numbers of +1 and +2 are nameless. I am unaware of oxygen actually existing as such ions. OF2 is a covalently bonded compound and as such, it does not contain the O2+ ion. Similarly, O2F2 is also covalent and does not contain O+ ions; if it did, it would be called oxygen fluoride and have the chemical formula OF.

I imagine, however, that O2+ and O+ exist in the gas phase at low pressures under unusual conditions. I would have thought they could be named systematically, for example the oxygen(1+) and oxygen(2+) ions.

Do you have any sources to support your statements? If not, you should remove them.

Cheers

Re: adoption[edit]

Sure, I'd be happy to assist. I've been a little quieter over the past couple of weeks lately because I'm very busy at work, but I still try and make sure I look at WP every day, so if you have any queries I should be able to respond within 24 hours at the worst. I'll add you to my list of adoptees, and welcome to Wikipedia. --DeLarge 07:52, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Something[edit]

I noticed that on your user page, it says that in school, you are in the class of 2009 when 2008 has just begun. How is that possible? —Preceding unsigned comment added by DeathNomad (talkcontribs) 21:57, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
