Userpage content[edit]

I suggest you familiarise yourself with Wikipedia:User page, Wikipedia's guideline on user page content. Your subpage, User:Aussie and Proud/Aussie and Proud appears to violate this guideline. Wikipedia provides user pages to facilitate communication among participants in its project to build an encyclopedia. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so your user page is not a personal website. Generally, you should avoid substantial content on your user page that is unrelated to Wikipedia. --AussieLegend (talk) 13:10, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you get a friggin life, my citations were articles in the Mercury proving we were in the finals. You are pathetic. How about you meet me up Tenambit Oval and we will sort this out you tool.

Please, be civil. The citations you provided did not support the claims that you made, as was explained at Talk:Maitland, New South Wales.[1] --AussieLegend (talk) 22:04, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I just happened to stumble onto this conversion in the recent changes. Take AussieLegend's advice and start being civil asap. You might find this article to be helpful.JayLitman 22:14, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aussie Legend should stop editing my article. The citations are from my local paper, dated and discusses us being in the finals each year I claimed. He has a vendetta againsy our rugby club and is doing this for his own entertainment, he is not even a resident of Maitland and he should just keep his nose out of business he knows nothing about. Prove to me how those citations did not show our club was in the final and stop editing a factual article. --Aussie and Proud (talk) 05:04, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since you appear to have missed what I wrote at Talk:Maitland, New South Wales,[2] I'll repeat it here:

References need to directly support claims. What you provided initially, which was just the results of a general search, did not. The new references that you've provided don't either:

  • 2007 - This talks about a win in their elimination semi-final and goes on to say that they will "play Merriwa in the minor semi-final next weekend". It does not confirm a win in the finals.
  • 2008 - This says that the team was defeated in a semi-final.
  • 2009 - This article is actually from before the 2009 season even started. It is dated 8 January 2009 and confirms that they were beaten in a semi-final in 2008. It says nothing about their performance in 2009.
None of these citations support the claims made. --AussieLegend (talk) 06:47, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I claimed we made the finals each year, I did not say whether we won or mot. These articles substantiate these claims. How do these articles show we were not in the finals????????--Aussie and Proud (talk) 09:49, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure how I can make this simpler other than to say that a semi-final is not a final. Can you quote the relevant section of each citation that says the team reached the final in that year? --AussieLegend (talk) 09:56, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can make it simpler, a final is a series contested after the home and away season is finished. It is contested between the top five teams on the ladder.Finals is the word I used and it is plural, it consists of semi-finals,final, and grand final. The articles prove we have reached this each year.--Aussie and Proud (talk) 10:15, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Maitland, New South Wales. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Bidgee (talk) 10:07, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
