August 2015[edit]

Hello, I'm MusikAnimal. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Ulrike Haage  with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. MusikAnimal talk 16:05, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Ulrike Haage[edit]

Good day - there were numerous problems in your edits to the English Wikipedia article on Ulrike Haage. The existing article had 21 citations in the References section, but your changes reduced these to 4 citations. Guidelines such as WP:BLP require a significant amount of referencing and a major removal of existing citations should not be done without good reason. However, some of those citations may not be the most reliable or current, so these could be replaced or the associated text removed if there is no reliable source to support these. Also, there were some areas that were overwritten without improvement - for example there was an existing photograph and infobox, but your edits left a non-existent red photo link. You did not enter any edit summaries to explain your edits (see message at top), which was another concern.

However, translating content from the German Wikipedia or other languages is welcome, and I'm sure some of the changes were useful. However, if you're adding content, you should provide supporting references (WP:RS, WP:BLP); if your removing content, you should have a good reason for doing so (for example, it is always valid to remove content which lacks supporting sources). Finally, you can try to update the article again, but you need to more careful with your edits. Perhaps more and smaller edits would be better, explaining any major changes you are making in each step, and avoid unecessary replacement of valid existing article content. You can also raise any editing questions at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions. Hope this helps. Dl2000 (talk) 23:15, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
