Glee season/episode color consensus

Artmanha, I wanted to let you know about the recent Talk:Glee (season 4)#Choosing a color methodology discussion, which came to a preliminary consensus about what to do with the colors now that the Season 4 DVD cover has been released, which usually results in a final color being chosen for the season's article based on the DVD cover.

In the past, we've used the background color, but with three of four season covers in the yellow-to-orange range, it would have been hard to distinguish between them, so the preliminary consensus decided on using the "glee" logo color from each season's DVD, as these are much more diverse.

You are very welcome to join the discussion and add your thoughts about color selections. However, please be aware that the recent changes were made because of the preliminary consensus, so there is a reason your recent reversions are themselves being reverted to the newly agreed-upon colors, with the inevitable adjustments as we try to get closer to the actual DVD logo color for that season. Thanks, and I look forward to reading your thoughts on the discussion page. Note that there is a similar discussion beginning on the season 5 talk page, to try to determine the best color for that season since the new season 4 color does not contrast well with the current season 5 color. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to The Following, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you don't like the colors used and have a specific reason for changing them, based on a Wikipedia policy, feel free to bring it up on the talk page. However if you continue reverting without any good reason, you'll eventually violate WP:3RR and WP:EDITWAR and face a potential block on your account. Gloss • talk 22:53, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Again, if you revert one more time on The Following you will be reported for violating WP:3RR. If you would like to provide an accurate reason on the talk page, you're welcome to do so. Gloss • talk 23:27, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time figuring out what you were trying to say, due to your lack of coherent sentences and scrambled thoughts. Simply put, if you want to change it, you'll need to get a WP:CONSENSUS on the talk page. Thanks, Gloss • talk 23:55, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
General practice on Wikipedia episode lists is for there to be a variety of colors. Black and gray, practically the same color, does not provide any kind of variety. Look across any episodes list that has been taken good care of and you'll see that black and gray are not two colors that should be used so close to each other, if at all. Gloss • talk 00:13, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
Also, to sign your comments on Wikipedia, all you have to do is type four tildes at the end of your comment, like this ~~~~ - Thanks Gloss • talk 00:14, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

It really doesn't matter what colors they are. You can make them purple and orange if you really want. But black and gray won't work. I'm also not sure what you mean by sections 1 and 2. Gloss • talk 00:38, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

I understand now. Yes there is room for expansion of a Season 1 and Season 2 article. The only reason it doesn't exist yet is because nobody has created it yet. Gloss • talk 00:47, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Hannah Montana

Please don't move references around in the Hannah Montana season episode lists or remove notes. The references should remain in the |RTitle= field as that is the correct place for them. Please see the instructions for {{Episode list}}. The notes that are in the articles are there for specific reasons. The running times, episode numbers and titles of several episodes are still contentious several years after episodes have aired, with challenges to sourced content having been made as recently as April this year. However, the consistent placing of notes and references in the correct fields have resulted in generally stable articles. History has shown that moving them from the correct places only results in inappropriate editing. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to do so on the appropriate article talk pages. Thankyou. --AussieLegend () 17:45, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Contrary to your assertion in your recent edit to Hannah Montana (season 4),[1] being dead does not make a source unreliable. Per WP:DEADLINK, dead links should not be removed simply because they are dead. WP:DEADLINK specifically says Do not delete cited information solely because the URL to the source does not work any longer. WP:Verifiability does not require that all information be supported by a working link, nor does it require the source to be published online. The source that you deleted was the original source used to verify the episode, as aired, was titled "Love That Let's Go", and was from Disney, so it was authoritative. It was well discussed at the time the episode aired, which is why it was restored to the article in April when a troublesome editor with a history of OR edits decided to change the title. Again your edits have been reverted and again I will ask you to discuss this at the article's talk page. Please respect WP:BRD and note that, per WP:STATUSQUO, while the matter is under discussion, and until such time as there is consensus for your changes, the status quo prevails. On a slightly different, but related note, the claim that "This is the first season of the show to be broadcast in High Definition" constitutes original research. A very similar claim was challenged in June 2010, but has never been sourced and was removed appropriately (4 years is long enough).[2] Accordingly, it should not be added again without a reliable source. --AussieLegend () 18:23, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

The Simpsons Movie in the episode list

Stop adding the movie to the page "List of the Simpsons episodes". The Simpsons Movie is not an episode. --24.67.32.131 (talk) 09:59, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Not how Wikipedia works? Um yes it is. If what you said is true, I'm positive an admin would have done what you did a long time ago. And again, the movie is not an episode, it isn't supposed to be on that page. If you're stubborn enough to keep going, I suggest talking to an admin first. --24.67.32.131 (talk) 18:21, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

List of Hannah Montana episodes

Please do not edit-war at List of Hannah Montana episodes. You've made a bold move that has been reverted so, in accordance with WP:BRD, it's now up to you to establish consensus to move the section and, while it's under discussion the status quo reigns per WP:STATUSQUO. The fact that nobody noticed that you had edited for some time does not change that. Clearly, with no other edits having been made by other editors in the past 3 months, the article isn't being watched by others at the moment. The reversion to the status quo occurred in the edits immediately after yours so WP:STATUSQUO still applies. --AussieLegend () 04:35, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Britney (album). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. -- GB fan 23:44, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for edit warring, as you did at Britney (album). Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  -- GB fan 00:14, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Daredevil Season 1 Final Poster.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Gravity Falls (season 2)

I added the production codes and removed the second air dates because they're impossible to verify. Gatordragon (talk) 21:27, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

@Gatordragon: There is no need to source the air dates for the episodes that have already aired. Please consider using the Talk Page to discuss possible changes and waiting for a consensus before executing them, otherwise you'll eventually start a WP:EDITWAR and face a potential block. As for the prod. codes, there is too many information on the episode table already, so we decided it was better to let it just cited above the table (as it already is). Hope I could help. — Artmanha (talk) 23:37, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
At Least keep the production codes and upcoming episodes. Gatordragon (talk) 00:06, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
@Gatordragon: Please stop changing the pages without a consensus, you'll eventually engage a WP:EDITWAR and face a potential block on your account. The prod. codes are already cited and linked on the information above the table. There is no need to put them on the table. And the reason we decided to cut them off of the episode table is because there was too much information on it already and that can be very detrimental. Thanks for understanding. — Artmanha (talk) 00:48, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
You're not participating in the talk page discussion. Yes, there is a need for production codes in the table. Most episode lists are like that and I can format the tables to make everything fit into the table. Also, don't remove the October premiere. Gatordragon (talk) 01:10, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
@Gatordragon: The reason I'm not responding you in the Talk Page is because you keep reverting the changes, even after I tell you should WAIT FOR A CONSENSUS. I'm adding the information about the upcoming episode as soon as possible, but that seem unlike with you reverting things all the time. Regarding the production codes, you should consider the fact that the information is ALREADY CITED AND LINKED above the table, excluding the need to put it on the table. The reason why it was removed from there was already explained to you many times before. Besides, prodution codes aren't info that MUST compose an episode table as per Template:Episode list. They are opitional and are already cited there. — Artmanha (talk) 01:20, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
The standard episode list includes production codes INSIDE the table. About the second air dates, please cite a source that verifies them and then they can be added. Gatordragon (talk) 01:23, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
We don't take other episode lists as models, as you can see per Template:Episode list. And I already explained to you why it isn't there. And aired episodes don't need references. Those information were referenced before the episodes were broadcasted. — Artmanha (talk) 01:28, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
Still, we need to add production codes because they are important information and air dates still need to be verifiable even after they air. Gatordragon (talk) 01:34, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

They are important information indeed, that's they are already there to begin with. As per which Wiki rule that states they need to? — Artmanha (talk) 01:38, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

They aren't required, but they are nice to have to expand an episode list. Gatordragon (talk) 01:39, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
That's what I'm trying to tell you. There is too much information on the table already. That's why they were taken off it — Artmanha (talk) 01:40, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
I solved that problem by removing the second air dates because they don't appear in the source and are reruns anyway, which aren't important. Gatordragon (talk) 01:42, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
First of all, they are important for several reasons. You see, Disney Channel and Disney XD are what we call "sister channels" and Gravity Falls is a Disney Channel show, not a Disney XD show. But most of the episodes are broadcast first on Disney XD for some reason, but the show is still a Disney Channel show. Those dates aren't reruns, they are just the original air dates to the episodes. And they were referenced before the episodes aired, so they are sourced, verified info. As per the production codes, they are already there, just not on the list. — Artmanha (talk) 01:46, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
Gravity Falls is a Disney XD show; Disney Channel no longer airs animation outside of reruns for one hour once a week. I put the production codes in the list and you need a source for the Disney Channel airings. Gatordragon (talk) 01:48, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
No, it is still a Disney Channel show. And no, we dont need them anymore as they already aired. — Artmanha (talk) 01:51, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
We only removed aired info references as they are generally easy to verify. The Disney Channel stuff is gone and can't be verified. Geraldo Perez (talk) 01:54, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Please cite a source about it being a Disney Channel show, because all sources, even Disney itself consider it as Disney XD. Gatordragon (talk) 01:55, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

WP:Verifiability does not require that all information be supported by a working link, nor does it require the source to be published online. WP:DEADLINK also says "do not delete a URL solely because the URL does not work any longer." That thing doesn't mean anything, as I stated before, they are sister channels, meaning they are basicly the same company. — Artmanha (talk) 02:02, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
If Disney itself considers it to be a Disney XD show, then it is a Disney XD show. So no need for Disney Channel dates because they're reruns and not the original channel. Gatordragon (talk) 02:04, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Okay, I agree about the original air dates. Nevertheless, the prodution codes still should be left off the table as there is too much information which can lead to confusion and misundertandings and they are already cited there. Also some info about the transgression of channels should be cited, — Artmanha (talk) 02:16, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Production codes are a standard expected part of these tables when they are available. Generally their inclusion is not contentious and people like to see them as it shows production order. I don't think your concerns about "confusion and misundertandings" is warranted here as that is not a issue in all the other episode list tables in other articles. Geraldo Perez (talk) 02:27, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
I agree with Geraldo Perez. It's no use to make the readers find production code info themselves instead of posting it into the table. Gatordragon (talk) 02:28, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
That's not entirely true since a lot of largely watched shows don't put them in the table just so it doesn't have too many information. As per Template:Episode list it's not desirable to have multiple columns in most of the episodes, as would be the case if we were to let the prod. codes there. — Artmanha (talk) 02:38, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
About the only reason not to have a production code column is if that info does not exist. For most major shows the production code is in the final frame of the end credits. Harder to find for kids shows. It is important enough that special "pcxxx" anchors are created so that episodes can be linked to by production code as well as the "epxxx" episode number anchors. However, one or more edits you labeled as vandalism, such as the edit at List of Gravity Falls episodes, are not considered vandalism under Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia has a stricter definition of the word "vandalism" than common usage, and mislabeling edits as vandalism can discourage editors. Please see what is not vandalism for more information on what is and is not considered vandalism. The user in question presumably acted in good faith according to the Manual of Style. They might not have seen the talk page discussion. nyuszika7h (talk) 21:16, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

Gravity Falls

I'm trying to assume good faith but it's not easy at this point. Please stop reverting every edit just because you don't like it. Remember, Wikipedia articles are not owned by anyone. "No need for that" is not a valid reason to revert an edit, as I didn't add new information that is unnecessary to include. Someone moved the bullet points before the episode list outside <onlyinclude>...</onlyinclude>, and I didn't feel like looking up when/why that happened. I've seen this practice used in other episode list articles where an episode has more than one title. It's easier to notice directly in the row for that episode, and people on the main episode list article should see it too. nyuszika7h (talk) 10:52, 14 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Gravity Falls shorts

The change was intentional, as explained in my edit summary, if they're treated as mini-series, which seems to be the case and the most plausible, then the quotes are unnecessary, they are italicized like names of other works. Individual episode names take double quotes, but these are not individual episodes. In either case, there's usually no reason to use both. nyuszika7h (talk) 22:36, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

@Nyuszika7H: I see your point and it makes sense, I only added the ("...") because it felt confusing not having those. Feel free to remove them. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks. — Artmanha (talk) 23:19, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Big Hero 6 soundtrack cover.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
