We try but do not always succeed to welcome everyone. It could be done automatically, but it is somehow nicer of a fellow editor does the job. One day soon I am sure you, too, will welcome new editors. It's very easy to do. Just turn on Twinkle in your preferences>gadgets and a world of magic opens up to you.
