Speedy deletion of The Bo Diddley Headhunters[edit]

A tag has been placed on The Bo Diddley Headhunters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Again, with this CRAP![edit]

I TRY to play nice...but NOOOOO, yet ANOTHER know-nothing, asshelmeted GENIUS, (who probably doesn't KNOW JACK about Garage rock music past what cyber-methane is flatulated on these pages) has seen fit in their oh-so elevated "wisdom" to redelete the page. (and Sparky here wants me to act nice and "ask for help" while they eff with the pages?!?) Yeah, THAT'LL happen just after Johnny Damon rejoins the Sawx!

**[edit]

Do you always act like this before asking for help from others? Here, I'll make you a deal: if you can make your request in a more civil manner, I'll help you out. Otherwise, you can sort out the explanation above on your own, as it covers the issue adequately. If you can't keep a cool head editing, you're not going win any favors from others. Yo, Teej[edit]

No, I am quite the gent when seeking assists from people.

HOWEVER, I DO take umbrage when people pull Pecksniffian, presumptuous moves on me. THEN, I get my Irish up and deliver the message with Waterford Crystal clarity that such feeble, futile attempts at playing me for a bitch are a waste of energy and time.

I'll make a DEAL with YOU: ADMIT that YOU pulled a knee-jerk move, fragrant of bovine excreta, then, if and when assistance is needed, I will, in tones draped in civility, look in your direction for it.

As for keeping a cool head and winning favors...I don't curry favor or popularity, preferring to leave the peri-anal osculations for others who might just have that sad kink.

Cheers! AnimalBoy (talk)

Thanks For Nothing?[edit]

Erm...I WOULD add the nifty li'l code {{hangon}} had the quick-on-the-trigger mumzer admin NOT blitzed the whole verkakte page into oblivion.

Gotta love the snipe-and-hide nature of the internet!

Please keep civility in mind when making any other comments. Also, please assume good faith. Placement of a {{hangon}} tag doesn't make the article "un-deleteable", it just lets the sysop know, when they come around, that somebody objects to the deletion. You should have (maybe you did, I don't know) left a note explaining your reason to keep the page, on the articles talk page. The admin will then read your explanation, and make a decision whether or not to delete the page. - Rjd0060 (talk) 01:23, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, when leaving comments on any talk pages, please sign your posts by adding 4 tilde's (~~~~) after your comment. - Rjd0060 (talk) 01:28, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I guess I am in one of my "fields of ignorance" because I don't know what you just said. - Rjd0060 (talk) 01:38, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot comment specifically on the issue that you are having, as I did not see the page before deletion. However, I've given you the information relating to our policies that I think may relate to your problem. There isn't anything else that I can say. - Rjd0060 (talk) 01:58, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've excerpted the following comment from my own talk page just to make sure you see it. "Thanks for your note, and I'll try to answer your questions. You may have noticed the part of the ((hangon)) tag that states (I'm paraphrasing) that it's not an absolute defense against deletion. In this case, since the hangon tag was, and I quote, "accompanied by no relevant argument", I exercised my administrative responsibilities and deleted the article. Suggesting that I don't know enough about the subject matter to be able to make an informed decision is not a relevant argument. Frankly, I don't have to -- it's your responsibility to inform me and every other reader of the reasons why the article is notable and meets the standards set down at WP:BAND. Since the article did not meet those standards (among other things, no national tour, no recording contract, no songs in the Billboard Top 100), and was not accompanied by any reliable sources that even demonstrated the verifiability of the scanty amount of information asserting notability that was present, the article was deleted.

However, if you'd like to take this further, there are a couple of things that can happen, and I'd be very, very happy to make them happen for you. I'd be delighted to recreate the article, let you work on it for a few days if you so desired in a private "sandbox" page that I would create for you, then re-post it and take it through the Articles for Deletion (AfD) process. In that way, you could get the opinions of the community at large about your article and your band, and not have to rely on my micturative insistence upon the letter of policy. Of course, you would have to be prepared to read the comments of the community at large upon your article, and if the article failed that AfD process, it would not be allowed to ever be re-created under any except the most unusual circumstances (involving a complex process known here as "Deletion Review"). If it passed, it would be protected against deletion under any except the most unusual circumstances. I do encourage you to submit your article for AfD at your leisure, since I think every article deserves a fair hearing and who knows? I might have been wrong. So let me know your wishes, and I'm at your service if you want to roll the dice." Accounting4Taste:talk 03:21, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
