Braingate article[edit]

I read with interest your comments on the talk page. I live in Boston and work in Cambridge, so if you would like to meet up for a coffee or something one day I could help you learn a bit more about wikipedia and its associated political foibles! I work with Jamie Heywood, whose brother Stephen you might have known. Cheers, --PaulWicks (talk) 05:33, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome and the links to helpful information! It's very nice to know someone who can help if I have questions about Wikipedia. This reply raises my first one: what's the Wikipedia etiquette regarding the channel by which to reply to a message such as yours? Comment on your talk page, reply on my own (as I'm doing?), or some other means? Aneuroscientist (talk) 17:52, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I know it's all a bit confusing! SOP would be to reply on my talk page but as I've got yours set up on my watchlist I can see it here too! The watchlist is the magic bit of Wikipedia, you can set which articles you want to "watch" for any changes and add them to your list; then click "my watchlist" in the top-right when you log on to see the changes. For instance if you've subscribed to the Braingate talk page then you'll see another editor has said hello. You did the most important thing for wiki messaging too, which is signing off. You can also use the little signature icon in the text editor rather than hitting the four tildes all the time. Best wishes, --PaulWicks (talk) 05:42, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
