@GeneralNotability: @Blablubbs: @Liz:

Hi all. I'm really frustrated and confused at what's all happened. I'm really just trying to find a concrete answer as to why I'm involved in this. Please do me to courtesy of reading my message to you if all of y'all are so quick to judge in the first place. Thx.

I’m relatively new to wiki, and created my account roughly a month ago. Wiki became my new hobby when I began a job where I do busy work most of the day. It was my escape for when a day was truly grueling. I began by editing pages that wiki recommended to me. You even chatted with me @GeneralNotability:, and you made me feel welcome.

After a few weeks, I felt confident enough to take a crack at creating my first AfC submission. I thought pursuing a page creation for a redlinked topic was a good idea - as alluded by wiki itself. I even reached out to @Liz: because I noticed that a previous draft of that topic had been deleted. She helped me out & restored the draft for me. I didn’t even need that, she just went ahead. Appreciated it nonetheless because I thought I was getting support from the wiki community.

If I knew that editing this draft would get me blocked, I wouldn’t have gone through with it. I don’t really understand what’s up or who GovernmentAgent/Kismet are. Or if they’re the same person? But I am Lucie. I built out my profile so that editors could see who I am. I wasn't trying to hide anything. I sometimes edit at coffeeshops and my local library. Can editors get blocked for sharing public IPs? I wish there had been more dialogue before I was blocked.

I don’t appreciate sexist judgments about the topics I choose to edit (most were recommended by wiki) or my writing style. I always follow encyclopedic writing in my work, but I choose a more casual approach on my talk/user page. So "badly sounding like a teenager" is super insulting @Blablubbs:, as this is just how I chose to communicate. I don't think I should be coerced into making my edit summaries any different; I should be able to speak freely as long as I'm following guidelines.

I’m currently rehearsing for a show & I had just logged back on after rehearsal to decompress...only to find out that I’m blocked. Look, I only want to contribute, and I don’t know how else to plead my case. I’ll abandon that draft completely if that’s what I need to do. If editors gang up so easily to judge others based on age/gender/interests, then maybe wiki isn’t for me. I don’t really know what else to say besides you’ll be losing someone who wanted to join the community. But if I’m being shut out so easily, don’t worry, I won’t “sock puppet” back in because I’ll know I’m clearly not wanted. Hope you can actually listen to me, even to just talk more. I would appreciate some clarity and dialogue xoxo Lucie

P.S. This is mostly just my appeal, but I wanted to communicate directly with the three of you. I don't know what further private info yall would need because, again, I don't understand what's going on. Maybe you read this far & my character is being reconsidered, but, if not, this is goodbye. I would never want to be a part of a community who judges their members so quickly again. Allthesensualsenses (talk) 13:58, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
