Hi there

So you changed your username Hippie? Long time no see. In regards to gaming I have been creating character articles from the visual Fate/stay night and managed to get Shirou Emiya to GA. I tried expanding some SNK articles but I feel some reached their limits. On the other hands, I think the reception of Kyo Kusanagi might come across as too much even though I separated each paragraphs into different topics of his design, moves, etc. I don't know if some parts should be trimmed. Still, when I worked in Shirou's article, I found a lot of reception from scholars and even novelists. Are scholars more important to remember in the articles. Forgot to tell you, while I have played some Soulcalibur games I barely pay attention to the lore so I barely edited the articles. However, Siegfried and Nightmare's organization feels kind of weird considering it explores a total of four characters. Is it okay like the character Sub-Zero (Mortal Kombat who has two guys using that name or should it be splitted to focus only on one character?Tintor2 (talk) 22:57, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

From what a friend told me, Nightmare is Siegfried's alterego after the first game from the series but it appears they somehow split in IV. In V, Siegried and Nightmare are different people but I don't know about the latest game of the series, VI.Tintor2 (talk) 23:31, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

I meant the redirect of "oversexualized" - "oversexualization" isn't even that

Not only there is no definition of that at all, it doesn't appear there in the redirect-target at all. And so not only there are no industry standards (besides these like of Sony or Steam, where MGSV and Quiet fit and are neither banned nor censored, and so they're either "undersexualized" or "properly sexualized" for them), there are not even Wikipedia itself has any defined standards as for this concept. The redirect-target article also defines (through a quote) the concept of "sexualization" (normal one, not "over-") as follows:

"[S]exualization consists of an instrumental approach to a person by perceiving that person as an object for sexual use disregarding the person's dignity and personality traits, with the person's worth being measured in terms of the level of sexual attractiveness; sexualization also involves the imposition of the sexuality of adult persons on girls, who are emotionally, psychologically and physically unprepared for this at their particular stage of development; sexualization[note 1] not being the normal, healthy, biological development of the sexuality of a person, conditioned by the individual process of development and taking place at the appropriate time for each particular individual."

A person (Wikipedia: a "being that has certain capacities or attributes such as reason, morality, consciousness or self-consciousness") isn't a fictional character. The text you cite discusses the perception of the character, which are things that people can perceive in fictional characters. Merged the article. By the way, since I noticed something from your sandboxes, but do any sources talk about the sexualization of Kula Diamond? She got in a spinoff with this trend and became a guest character in Dead or Alive 6, a series I heard is tends to get criticized for that. It might mean more coverage in the article. Also, I once thought of creating an article about the other KOF character Leona Heidern but there is barely enough real world information I could find. Even the wiki seems to lack information. • I have a relatively large collection of physical magazines on hand—mostly Electronic Gaming Monthly, Next Generation and Game Informer. It's becoming less and less relevant, though, with the huge push to turn old game magazines into PDFs. Every issue of NG is available in the Internet Archive these days (all linked on this page). Computer Gaming World is fully scanned now, along with a large segment of PC Gamer and PC Zone issues, etc. A lot of the major foreign-language magazines are available as PDFs, too, on places like the Internet Archive and Kultmags. So that's where I get most of my magazine sources at this point—the big archives anyone can access. It's a nice change of pace compared to the old days, when print game magazines were essentially lost sources.JimmyBlackwing (talk) 23:48, 15 June 2019 (UTC)

Since you're in the market for print coverage archives, I should say that I maintain a cache of links to them on one of my subpages—there are more where the ones above came from. The WPVG reference library lists every physical issue of Game Informer, Official PlayStation Magazine and EGM that I own—I'm pretty sure that at least some of them aren't available elsewhere on the web yet. Goro Majima

Ever played a Yakuza game? I'm currently playing them and when I first started playing the one from the PS2 I kind of made Kazuma Kiryu. The thing is that another character named Goro Majima surpasses Kiryu's popularity not only in a poll but with Sega also addressing fans' claims. There has been some more commentary about the making of the character like here and here. I read that, and I don't know if I would interpret it as supporting what is in the text. It does discuss the costume as sexy, but the author mainly describes the strange or goofy qualities, like the aviators and pipe. My random tastes

So, because of my games I have been playing, I haven't been able to focus on a single series. I mean, first I expanded Yakuza: Kiwami but I couldn't work on Goro Majima's article since I haven't touched 0 or Kiwami 2. These three games I mention happen to be covered a lot by the media especially due to Majima's role on them. Then I played Tekken 7 but I ended up expanding Tekken 6 for nostalgic reasons. I already tried expanding two characters articles related (Kazuya and Lars) to but I'm tired to clean up Jin and Heihachi.

Then I played Devil May Cry 5 and since last year I managed to create the articles for Lady and Trish and made them GA, I managed to at least somehow cover 5 and its cast. The only DMC character article that has yet to be become GA is Nero, but I'm kind of retired of making GA due to problems with my prose. If you played DMC5 then you might know about Vergil's in it but I don't know if other aspects from his character be covered in the article even if it's his alteregos. Sorry for the information dump. Video game editing?

Hi, Abryn. I'm Clovermoss. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about how I could maybe get involved in editing video game articles. I have a lot of interests on Wikipedia (check out my userpage), but I'm trying to venture a bit out there and explore other topics. Basically, I might be able to chip in every once and awhile, but I'm not sure where that help would be most useful. I'm a big Nintendo fan, especially Pokémon (even though that's technically a third-party franchise). I can also understand French somewhat well, so I might be able to help out a bit with translating content if nessecary. I kept thinking about making a Goro Majima article over and over, but I ended up making one for Takayuki Yagami due to how much creation and reception I found from the series' spinoff Judgment although the appearances is just the premise so far. FF OVA

Hi. I saw the mention on PresN's page, and did a little hunting. This is the only thing I've found. It's scans of an interview from a V-Jump-published comic adaptation of the series from 1994 (no page numbers), the interviewees being the OVA's main director Rintaro and franchise creator Hironobu Sakaguchi.

As to writing for an OVA, I haven't done a huge amount due to the difficulty of finding sources. I did do much of the work on the articles for Kingsglaive FFXV and the ONA Brotherhood, along with the Blood-C franchise. I tried to focus on expanding the production and release sections first as that's normally the most difficult to source, while reception and plot synopses are less difficult comparatively. This source confirms Madhouse's role in production. This article also references why the series hasn't seen a DVD release. This link confirms Urban Vision's role in publishing it overseas.

That's all I found with a casual search. I fear this will be one of this articles where there isn't much info to put in. But I've seen other articles like it that haven't see too much bother through the GA process. --ProtoDrake (talk) 12:13, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

I probably owe you a proper apology for my intense reaction and negativity over on Talk:Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire/GA2. Truth be told I think I misunderstood the entire concept of a Good Article Reassessment, instead seeing it as "how fast we can get this thing delisted" instead of "how can we fix this so that it actually meets the criteria", which is not how the process is supposed to work. KOF 96

Happy New Year. I was thinking of giving the characters Leona and Chizuru Kagura from KOF their own articles but I first wanted to know if by any chance you had quick access to potential third party sources considering you tend to nail it. Both of them debuted in KOF 96 and while Kagura didn't become a recurring character, she still appeared in a movie. I think Leona was a guest in Metal Slug so there might be potential for more. Also, I already have access to two polls where that might expand Leona's popularity while DenOfGeek featured her in a certain article. @Judgesurreal777: Sorry for intruding but once I did research on Xeahnort but couldn't find anything since his incarnations besides the older one appear late in the games. When creating KH characters article some years ago I noticed the playable cast were the ones most focused by the critics. I have made research in Riku but never found enough due to his lack of action in the first game and how his destiny was a mystery in II. Considering he was playable in Chain of Memories and Dream Drop Distance there might be potential for it but I didn't even play DDD. In regards to creation, there are KH fansites who translated the Ultimania guidebooks where Nomura among others talk about the making of the cast.Tintor2 (talk) 21:20, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

I've been trying to expand most of CyberConnect2's articles in the past weeks, resulting in a massive expansion in Haseo, the creation of Kite (.hack) among other stuff. However, while Tsukasa seems to be quite popular for her role in the first tv series, I can't find anything about her creation which sure is quite strange considering how vocal was Matsuyama about Haseo's creation. Rebuilding .hack characters

In the past months I've been trying to remake the .hack characters resulting in four:

• Kite (.hack)
• Haseo
• Atoli
• Ovan (.hack)

While Kite and Haseo seem to have proper coverage and sources, I kinda worry about Atoli and Ovan since not even the Japanese Wikipedia has it. I tried asking this blogger who has the latest artbook but she didn't respond me about it. In case you manage to find sources I would be grateful for them. I want to help with GA reviews

Thanks again for your thorough review and for promoting the article. If you have time, I could use some advice, so I can start to help with some of the backlog at GA (particularly for video games).

In terms of the GA criteria, it looks like checking one sentence at a time allows you to address the verifiability and neutrality criteria at the same time. If a statement is verifiable and isn't too opinionated, then we are doing good so far.

If that sounds alright to you, then I think my main question is how to gauge if someone else's work is "well-written". I know when I edit, I try to aim for grammar and clarity.
