CHICOTW voting[edit]

It seems you may hold the power this week because everyone has only voted for their own nominees so far. You are the only person who has been active and did not nominate a page last week. If you vote please do so wisely because it looks like you will be the deciding vote. TonyTheTiger 17:10, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I had been worried that CHICOTW was losing support. Glad to see your edit. I took about 40 photos for WP on Wed. Many are at Central Station (Chicago neighborhood), One Museum Park, Northerly Island, McCormick Place, Soldier Field. We should lengthen this and put some of them here to. I have yet to get them all up. I probably only have half of them uploaded. Many are also for an article I just created Rock & Roll McDonald's.
I noticed a printer building while out and posted it at Printer's Row, Chicago. Also, let me know if you think the Printer's Row location controversy is clear enough for you. TonyTheTiger 22:49, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:LittleHellChicago.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:LittleHellChicago.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:16, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for concurring with me on the dishes thing, I undid a change from someone last night adding a number of dishes to one section and they reverted it again. I have a feeling that this is going to be an article with a lot of opinions on it as it is such a popular cuisine and a very personal cuisine as well. If you and I keep an eye on it, I think it will be okay, if the useless edits continue I will ask one of the administrators that is a member of the WikiProject Food and Drink to semi-protect the page.--Christopher Tanner, CCC 15:44, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It has sort of been my desire to at least bring each major cuisine up to GA status and then FA, I think this one will be pretty easy for me to bring up to FA status quickly. I started with French cuisine as it is where most of my training is. I am going to be using that as the model as I go through. I can see many of the regional areas warranting their own articles eventually for Italian cuisine because each has its own specific history, set of ingredients, and technique of cooking. Everything I write, I reference, I am extremely against writing articles without citation as it keeps Wikipedia from being taken seriously in the academic realm. --Christopher Tanner, CCC 21:57, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NU buildings[edit]

There is a broad consensus that many university pages on individual schools, colleges (in the American, not English sense), departments, programs, majors, as they exist now, do not fulfill the notability criterion. The argument can be extended to most university buildings as has been done here, here, and here, to say nothing of AfDs which I don't even want to begin to go through. Basically, none of the buildings articles currently meet notability criterion. I am not saying they couldn't, but it makes more sense to have a list right now than a bunch of stagnant stub articles. I'll copy this to Talk:Northwestern University Madcoverboy 02:15, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Let's keep the discussion on Talk:NU, but I wanted to let you know that the main tags that you dropped are just redirects back to the list page. Madcoverboy 02:20, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm trying to assume good faith but I see that you've reverted a substantial number of my edits and gone on to add more information effectively leading to two different versions of the same page. Instead of improving the information available on the central article and determining if the notability of any one building warrants a separate article, you're propagating the problem of stubby and abandoned articles and we're duplicating rather than building upon each others' work. I understand that you may not agree with my boldness and I apologize for not discussing the scope of the changes I envision ahead of time, but I believe it will make a more coherent body of information on Northwestern. I don't want to get into an edit war or go over your head to resolve this, but do not revert any more of my work without discussing it with me first. Madcoverboy 03:50, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Amalia Hernandez & Ballet Folklorico[edit]

I agree with your edits. I noticed that the sole three edits of the person involved taking material verbatim from one site. It struck me as spam-like slef-promotion of an organization. Dogru144 15:59, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Bellissima poster.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Bellissima poster.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page.
