October 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Redrose64. I noticed that you recently removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 08:37, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, i got it Please don't remove my edits — Preceding unsigned comment added by AJ Pachano (talkcontribs) 11:16, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't remove your edits. I restored edits that you removed, on two pages: in Template talk:S-line where you removed three threads in direct contravention of WP:TPO; and in Template talk:S-rail/lines where you removed one thread. WP:TPO allows you to remove threads that you started if nobody else has since posted to that same thread; but once they have done so, removal needs to be done with care. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 11:27, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:47, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletions[edit]

Why have you marked Template:North Shore Line color/doc for speedy deletion (your edit at 06:04, 26 October 2017), and then immediately contested that deletion by creating Template talk:North Shore Line color/doc straight away, at 06:04, 26 October 2017?

Also, please do not use the {{delete}} template directly. It is a subtemplate, and is not intended for made-up reasoning like "we will never use this documentation". Valid reasons for speedy deletion are listed at WP:CSD, and every single one of these criteria has one or more templates that are specific to that criterion. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 09:47, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

i marked Color/doc to show the list of color on the box but it wont work so many errors on color list on the box so how to fix color/doc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AJ Pachano (talkcontribs) 10:04, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand what you are asking for here. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:18, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

November 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Kendall-K1 (talk) 14:05, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

PRR templates[edit]

I'm getting a bit frustrated with your PRR template edits. As other editors have told you, you must leave edit summaries for every edit to indicate why you are making changes. Additionally, why are you removing unnamed services like the Trenton Line from the s-rail templates? There is no reason to do so. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 21:13, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Trenton Line is a commuter service and PRR is a intercity rail service and before i edit, i keep reserching about the PRR passenger routes and i wrote about edit summaries before click save changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AJ Pachano (talkcontribs) 23:57, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't understand that sentence. Kendall-K1 (talk) 00:34, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Kendall-K1: @Pi.1415926535: I've been watching this one for some time now. It appears that AJ thinks intercity routes are more notable than commuter rail routes. I have reverted his good faith edits dozens of times before. Each time AJ edits an article, city-to-city routes are replaced with named services, and adjacent stations replaced with major stations along said named route. So far I have been unable to correct or revert most of AJ's edits, due to the vast span of edits over various railroads, save for the Erie Lackawanna's Cleveland-Youngstown and the Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee. As for the rest I dunno how to fix. Cards84664 (talk) 01:28, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
AJ was also unable to comprehend that the CTA had location based route names, claiming the actual "service name" was unknown. Other edits like these can be found in their contributions page. Cards84664 (talk) 01:36, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Cards84664: if you're talking about this, unable to comprehend its undo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AJ Pachano (talkcontribs) 1:42, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
@Kendall-K1: I know, should have mentioned that I've seen a lot of undos based off of jumps to conclusions. Cards84664 (talk) 01:49, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Cards84664 and Pi.1415926535: I've asked about this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Trains#Changes to Infobox services. Kendall-K1 (talk) 01:47, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sign your posts[edit]

Please sign your posts. Third request. I won't repeat the instructions here, check the previous requests. Kendall-K1 (talk) 02:23, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

How? — Preceding unsigned comment added by AJ Pachano (talkcontribs) 02:24, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Signatures. Cards84664 (talk) 02:24, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Use four tildes (~~~~) and put them at the end of stuff you write. The signature is made by the website software when you save a page with four tildes next to each other, and the signature text goes where the tildes were. Jc86035 (talk) 02:44, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jc86035: on talk? — Preceding unsigned comment added by AJ Pachano (talkcontribs) 02:47, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, like I'm doing right now. Copy ~~~~ (the text inside the nowiki tags) and put it at the end of your posts. Jc86035 (talk) 02:56, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please sign your posts. Fourth request. Kendall-K1 (talk) 02:44, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The whole point is so we don't waste time doing that. Cards84664 (talk) 02:33, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I see you still haven't figured out signatures. Cards84664 (talk) 02:34, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Missouri Pacific Railroad templates requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read!
