showbread[edit]

Did you write the new section to Showbread by the ip 82.26.21.174? if so, did you write it yourself? Jon513 15:14, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that was me. I have been doing some work on it, so it was fresh in my mind. I'm new to this so hope that's all ok. Did you write the article? Not something many people many people are aware of! --ADMH 16:31, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not only is it OK, it's great. I did not write the article, but one of many people who have contributed. I was just concerned that it was a copyright violation, because most of the time that there is a large new section of text it is cut and pasted from somewhere. If you published this material elsewhere (a thesis, or journal) it would be best if you made clear there that you release the copyright on it, or it may be deleted here. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials and Wikipedia:Confirmation of permission Jon513 18:47, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! It's just a summary of some material gathered for an undergrad dissertation, so no copyright issues. Really only wanted to post some of it here because there doesn't seem to be anything published that brings together info on the Bread of the Presence in Christianity. I guess the idea that the Sacraments owe so much to Jewish traditions has been unpopular in the past. I had to do a lot of searching! Would it be inappropriate to ask whether you are a Durham graduate here? I noticed you used the University as an example on the Shewbread talk page. --ADMH 21:38, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is not inappropriate to ask personal information, but the rule is that one needn't reveal more than he or she is confortable revealing. No, I am not a Durham graduate, I used Durham as an example because I notice that the IP was from there. Jon513 13:17, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
