Alberta separatism[edit]

Hello,

Please try and understand the difference between conservatism; which is an ideology and conservation which is an action and a noun ie. the act of conservatism. Your syntax is poor but, it is not helped by using words that are incorrect to your purpose.

"Both the Alberta government and the Canadian federal government responded politically to address oil reserves conservatism".

This sentence means oil reserves are conservative. ie. That oil reserves have a political ideology and that ideology is conservatism. Obviously that does not make sense since, oil reserves are not sentient and therefore can not have nor express preferences regarding political ideologies. Secondly, it implies that both Alberta and Canada addressed this conservatism somehow with the intention of modifying it! ie. to try and change the conservative nature and ideology of Alberta's oil reserves.

Secondly, Joe Clark did not take a minority government. One can not take government! One is appointed to Government by the Crown through winning an election. Therefore, while many verbs can indicate coming to office or a change of ministry to take is not one of them; elected, won, defeated the incumbent etc... all suffice but took is simply wrong especially since in this case it is not indicated who he took office from and so the sentence lacks an object ie. who he took the premiership from.

This stuff isn't easy and I can understand your frustration but, Wikipedia only works if people allow others to use their skills to better the article.

Regards.
