Not to take anything away from Judd and his work, but questioning the author of this article, it is a stretch too far to say that Judd was "(3) Largely responsible for the coining of the term “psychophysics”..". Phychophysics, by that name, was the well known cornerstone discipline of experimental psychology going back to Fechner in 1860 in his Elemente der Psychophysik (Elements of Psychophysics), through Weber, and Wundt, then into the 20th century, and into the U.S., with Pierce, Jastrow, Stevens et al.. And, it's not only naming rights, but the conceptualization of physical stimuli, and perception of those stimuli, as separate domains along with the experimental procedures to objectively measure and relate the two, that were also developed by the psychophysists and used by both physicists and psychophycists to develop the chromaticity standards discussed. 2606:6000:CFC0:2:6D52:92BD:2B15:45B6 (talk) 02:33, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
