Additional citations needed to create an article about the last US ground commander to depart the Vietnam War[edit]
Can anyone please help me find info about an obituary in a local newspaper at Cape Cod? Regarding the following obituary of James Hamilton Kean, I would like to know:
- Name of the newspaper and date of publishing
- If possible, also the name of the person that wrote the obituary.
(The obituary says about James Hamilton Kean (a.k.a. Jim Kean and James H. Kean) that he "in command of the last Marines to leave the rooftop during the evacuation of the embassy on April 30, 1975. He personally supervised the evacuation of approximate 1000 Americans and several thousand Vietnamese in advance of approaching North Vietnamese force".)
Other sources say,[1][2][3] (?—2008[4]) the last US ground commander during the Vietnam War; he was the commander of the the last group of (ten other) US soldiers evacuated from the Vietnam War.[Note 1]

Not sure why you are asking me, but as long as you have reliable third party sources you should be ok. Same with a Kean article, provided you can find enough verifiable info on him, you should be good to go.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 21:34, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

Technically, by the constraints of the encyclopedia, they are right. You may want to see if Kean meets notability guidelines and start an article on him, first. - That "they are right" is not a certainty. I am happy to hear that you have paid writing gigs, and that you nevertheless might be willing to offer your two cents regarding Kean—arguably the most notable Marine Security Guard, and possible the only one who became notable for reasons other than the circumstances of death OTJ. --20yardsaway (talk) 11:50, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
