For clarification: many persons get World Series rings, including non-players. Getting a World Series ring (which are given out at a team's discretion) is not equivalent to being a "World Series champion" when that wording is used (as it is in Wikipedia) specifically to refer to players who were on the roster of the winning team during the World Series itself.
