Sorry for forgetting to explain it, but no I believe it is valid, as there's no source for the information and it's not listed anywhere else (simply searching up "barred eagle-owl cocos", will net you the same copy paste line on here), whilst instead if you look through checklists of birds on the Cocos & Keelings Islands, Barred Eagle-Owl does not show up anywhere (not even as a vagrant!), but they're definetly not resident, thus the information there is false and should be expunged.
