Hello

Take note that I had a sysop revert your move of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Janet Ellen Morgan to Janet Ellen Morgan. If you take a close look, you will see the following problems.

  1. Unsourced paragraphs (remember this is a BLP)
  2. External links in the body of the article, see WP:EL
  3. Promotional lists full of external links, "landscapes", "celebration art" and whatnot
  4. Weasel words - « noted economist »
  5. and many more or less minor things

Please, do not in the future move such submissions to the mainspace. [[CharlieEchoTango]] 21:09, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Will you please consider adopting me? If you look further up on your talk page; I left a note there, too. user:Chronology of Life —Preceding undated comment added 00:37, 2 March 2011 (UTC).

Sorry, been a bit busy, guess I didn't notice your above request. I'd be happy to.

Online Ambassador Program

Please take a look at this project page and see if you can be a mentor to one of the many Areas of Study. If you can, please put your name in the "Online Mentor" area of the Area of Study of your choice and then contact the students you will be working with. As the Coordinating Online Ambassador for this project, please let me know if I can be of assistance. Take Care...NeutralhomerTalk • 04:37, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

GA Assistance request

Hey there. I've never done this before so this may be totally inappropriate, but I need help getting 2010 Panama City school board shootings to GA status. I've been working on it for a while (it's already failed one review), and I'm getting kind of worn out. The sources keep changing, Youtube keeps taking down its videos, and I'm going a little insane reading through pages of WP's MoS. I keep messing up the copyright on pictures and audio...ah it feels good just to vent. Since my WP philosophy is based on the Benjamin Franklin quote, Resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve, I am determined not to give up on this article until it reaches GA status. If you could assist in any way with formatting sources, correcting MoS errors, general copyediting, or just improving the article in any way at all, I would be extraordinarily appreciative. Let me know if you're interested in pursuing this; I'll be monitoring this talk page, so you can respond here or on my talk page. Cheers, and thanks in advance. --Ashershow1talkcontribs 05:23, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

I'd be glad to help you out regarding that article. I'll start working on it later today. Mr R00t Talk 'tribs 19:40, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
Thank you so much!! The last GA reviewer said the article needed more detail from the sources, so that could be something we need to do. Please let me know if you have any other comments/criticisms as you're editing the article. --Ashershow1talkcontribs 04:16, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Marking articles students are working on

Howdy, Online Ambassador!

This is a quick message to all the ambassadors about marking and tracking which articles students are working on. For the classes working with the ambassador program, please look over any articles being worked on by students and make sure these things are taken care of (especially for classes that aren't working with mentors):

  1. Add {{WAP assignment | term = Spring 2011 }} to the articles' talk pages. (The other parameters of the {{WAP assignment}} template are helpful, so please add them as well, but the term = Spring 2011 one is most important.)
  2. If the article is related to United States public policy, make sure the article the WikiProject banner is on the talk page: {{WikiProject United States Public Policy}}
  3. Add Category:Article Feedback Pilot (a hidden category) to the article itself. The second phase of the Article Feedback Tool project has started, and this time we're trying to include all of the articles students are working on. Please test out the Article Feedback Tool, as well. The new version just deployed, so any bug reports or feedback will be appreciated by the tech team working on it.

And of course, don't forget to check in on the students, give them constructive feedback, praise them for positive contributions, award them {{The WikiPen}} if they are doing excellent work, and so on. And if you haven't done so, make sure any students you are mentoring are listed on your mentor profile.

Thanks! --Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 18:30, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

HyperOffice Article

A few months ago a few flags have been added to the HyperOffice page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperoffice. I had consulted editors, and gotten it reviewed by other wikipedia users way back in 23rd April 2009 even before I set up the page. I had referenced a number of entries in the same domain (online collaboration) before setting up the page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebEx, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Box.net, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoho, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimbra http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Desktop. The article is exactly the same in tone as these other articles. If anything, the article has been cleaned and more references have been added since it was put up. Please reconsider taking down the flags in light of the above. --wikiliscious (talk) 21:04, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Trying to edit a page with a well-known fact, keeps getting deleted.

Good evening! I'm trying to edit the "Donald Duck" page with some factual information, but my posts keep getting deleted. There's a rather well-known singer, named Saud Ahmed, and he sings for The Crimson Armada. His voice, however, has been likened to Donald Ducks when he sings. All of his fans know this, it's been mentioned on radio interviews, tv interviews, and on stage. In fact, anyone who hears his voice immediately recognizes the resemblance to Donald Duck. In the Beyond Disney section of the article, there are many other posts about how Donald Duck is appearing around the world, and I feel that this post would very much fit the article. I have interviews, commentary, etc to support the claim, but each post I make gets deleted. This isn't simply an opinion of mine, it's a fact that he does indeed sound like Donald Duck. Is there any way I can post the information and make it stay there? Thanks! Zwgrad09 (talk) 06:52, 18 March 2011 (UTC)Zack Wall

Adoption request please

Hello,

I have some serious contributions to make to Wikipedia, but have had negative experiences in the past. Ideally to begin with, I'd appreciate a hands-on assistance approach and if you'd be happy to adopt me, I'd be very grateful.

Thank you in advance, Antony (Antonyaddy (talk) 07:10, 18 March 2011 (UTC))

Help for a novice

Hello,

I need help because I am finding it difficult to navigate the website especially contacting the editor/administrator(s) who removed my external link. This is not a "dispute resolution" simply a request to help me understand why it has been removed and if I can improve my contribution.....perhaps include it in the main body of the article with a citation instead of an external link. I have bookmarked your User Talk page so hopefully I will be able to find it again....I also have a User Talk page but need to figure out how to use it. it is all very complicated.

Account Creation Tool

Hello,

In 2008 I requested access to the Account Creation interface, this was denied, and I was told to ask again in a few months. I am still unable to register due to this, but its now 2011 and I have far more experience, and I would like to be able to help out with the Account creation interface. Can you please resolve this issue so I can register?

Thank-you, Wikipedian2 (talk) 21:38, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Interest in Adoption: Extremely new editor

Dear Sir/Madam,

After recently finding an article on Wikipedia that I found frustratingly inadequate very poorly written, and, after viewing my own frustration as to my inability to edit this article, I have immersed myself in the extremely confusing, yet worthwhile world of Wikipedia.

In short, I am a very inexperienced new user searching for the tools needed to submit my ideas to this glorious internet database. I have been befuddled with the computer language and (what I think is) html formatting, and as a result have come searching for a trainer, such as yourself, to guide me.

I am mainly looking to become immersed in this during the Summer, as I am on UTC -6 from early June to September, where I move to UTC -4

Thank you for your consideration!

Sincerely, Dalemark7 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dalemark7 (talkcontribs) 19:05, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Please adopt me

I am still learning Wikipedia`s basics. But whenever I create an article, most of them are nominated for deletion due to lack of references and what people think is promotional material. Also to add on,I usually can`t find the article`s sandbox so that the article`s manager also think I am spamming it.Please I really need your help.Thank You!

new user needing help

Hi 1234r00t! I'm a new user, and I was looking at the adopt-a-user section to see if I could become more experienced at editing. I haven't really made any edits yet, but I hope that you can help me become more experienced.

                 thanks in advance,
                    Stingray43 (talk) 17:28, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

The article 2010 Canada forest fires has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Portions of this article related to Quebec are duplicates of May 2010 Quebec wildfires, the remainder is vague and incomplete, and the article is written like a news report.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PKT(alk) 14:55, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
