BLP[edit]

With some other kind of topic it might be adequate to insert a fact that's not sourced but can be sourced, but since this was information about a living person, it must be sourced or it's subject to summary deletion, particularly if it is the least bit contentious or likely to be challenged. — e. ripley\talk 16:32, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Generally that standard is applied to information that can be considered contentious, but it's a good practice to require sourcing for facts in a BLP. If you doubt information in a BLP that is not necessarily contentious but is unsourced, it might be best to ask on the talk page whether someone has a source, or look for a source yourself first, before just deleting it. — e. ripley\talk 18:53, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Funny, but what I added to the flight attendant was easily sourced and not contentious. I did not call the man crazy. பின்லாந்து (talk) 18:57, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Had it been false, it certainly would've been contentious for it to exist in the article. This kind of thing is exactly what needs to be inserted with a source attached. — e. ripley\talk 19:39, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Username[edit]

While it is certainly allowed for you to use a username that does not have any Latin characters in it, it is preferred on the English Wikipedia that you format your signature in such a way that it features the transliteration of your username into the English alphabet, so other users who are not versed in Tamil can refer to you in conversation without having to constantly copy and paste your username. For more information, see WP:SIG#NL.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:19, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I orginally requested a name with partial Roman alphabet but the name was rejected by the Wikipedia computer citing that I cannot have mixed script. So, I deleted the Roman alphabet part even though I thought it made it harder to read. I have a new signature, let's see if it works. பின்லாந்துF (talk) 00:09, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I saw your post on WP:AN. It is preferred if you have your entire username in your username in English, rather than all in Tamil with one English character.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 00:21, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
