Heyward Point is a headland near the mouth of Otago Harbour, west of Aramoana; the same name is also used for the settlement on the hill above the headland. It is part of the Otago Heads. Kaikai Beach, known in Māori as Takeratawhai, is a beach lying to the immediate west of Heyward Point; it contains archaeological sites of considerable significance. Also part of the area, behind Kaikai Beach and below Heyward Point, is Jennings Creek Marsh.
