Personal Information[edit]

My name is Robert William Keith. I earned a PhD from the University of Iowa in 1967. After a career in the Departments of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and Communication Sciences and Disorders I am an emeritus professor of audiology at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. I have edited a variety of Wikipedia articles, mostly on the subject of hearing health. As an audiologist I have more than fifty years of experience in areas of hearing and balance. During that time I published 6 copyrighted auditory tests, 35 textbook chapters, and 140 peer reviewed articles, and gave more than 300 presentations at professional meetings. In addition I conducted neurophysiological intraoperative monitoring during skull base and spine surgery for more than 25 years. Finally, I have a career long clinical and research interest in auditory processing and language disorders. My purposes in being involved in Wikipedia are to learn from the content and to verify that entries dealing with hearing and and balance are correct and appropriately referenced so the public is accurately informed about these matters.

Conflict of interest declaration regarding any posting I make on Ohio Valley Voices[edit]

For information I am a non-paid member of the Board of Directors at Ohio Valley Voices. My three year term began January 1, 2019. My position on the board is to be involved with development - that translates into assisting in the identification of possible donors to this non-profit 501(3)C, relaying names of possible contributors to the development board, and probably to assist that board in making calls to possible contributors.

My hope is that this declaration fulfills the necessary requirement about possible conflicts of interest when writing about the topic of Ohio Valley Voices in Wikipedia as stated:

in the form:{{paid|user=UIowagrad|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.
